Hi everyone,

I'm just a couple of weeks away from receiving my 2023 Taycan GTS and would like to ask the following:

Is the Porsche Mobile Charger part of the standard equipment?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks.

It was in the UK for the J1 cars, looks like it isn't included with the J1.2 cars though.

It was as were the cables (car to PMC+ and tail for connection to your power outlet). Ideally, the cables and connectors should be 32A rated and if you connect to a dedicated 32A supply at home you will get around 7.4kW - 7.6kW (0.3 miles / minute charge) which is perfect for home charging. The PMC+ is rated at 9.6kW (max) so don't expect to get that.

Remember that all charging control is performed via My Porsche App and / or via the PCM - no charging control features on the PMC+ at all (nor are they needed). You can drop the power by 50% by holding the power button but can't think why you would want to so ensure its set to 100%.

You should also get a 3 pin domestic plug attachment (to be used when offgrid / emergencies) and will be excruciatingly slow in charging - 0.1 mile / minute.

J1.2 Taycans don't now come with any EVSE and so this is now at additional cost.

Yep, same here. J1.2 only comes with a simple cable. See the standard equipment list of your configuration.
A mobile charger does not cost that much nowadays though, and the current limitation is such that it is an absolute last resort solution.

Appreciate all info.

It's been a bit of a struggle to communicate with the dealer since I'm not German nor speak the language and most of our exchange has been in German. (Google translate)

The person I've been talking to is really nice, but I've been lost in translation a couple of times.

When I asked what EVSE came with the car as standard he just send me a couple of pictures of the 5 pin industrial 32A cable.

Anyway, planning on getting a wall box later. For the time being, will install a red 5 pin industrial socket using a three phase connection, so I was hoping to get closer to 48A. (16A per phase)

Will that get me close to 11KW? Not sure the PCM+ can deliver...

Not last resort in UK and for most the primary solution.

PMC+ won't provide that (9.6kW max) and the alternative would have been PMCC (22kW). Standard AC onboard car charger is 11kW.

The 32A charger advises that you will get 22kW, so does that not mean when you have the larger capacity on-board vehicle charger, you will get nearer to 22kW?

No it doesn't mean that at all.

To get 22kw from the PMCC you will need a 3 phase electric supply.

The car has 11kW AC charger as standard but some cars were optioned with the expensive and highly unreliable 22kW AC charger. If this is fitted and you have 3 phase with a PMCC EVSE.then you will get close to 22kW (19.6kW after losses).
