Yes I just got this letter on Monday. I called my dealer, left a message, and have not heard back yet. My heater seems to be working.

Late to this thread, this may have been said already, I understand there’s a 6 year warranty on the ‘electric passenger compartment heater’
Other Air Con related components also had an extension to the usual new warranty period.
Porsche is likely to have pinned this on suppliers.

If you want to build cars which break a lot, at the very least you should build out the service network to repair them quickly (remote diagnosis. pre-order parts, have sufficient number of techs, do quick one day turnaround visits, provide loaners for any breakages which make the car undriveable).
Whenever I’ve made an appointment with my dealer, I am always cautioned that they have only a single Taycan technician.
Perhaps that will be different when I call about the heater. Although first I’m going to wait until the collision shop gets the front camera wire from them. But the collision shop is still waiting to hear how long the wait will be…

Just received my MY24 car back from OPC Sutton Coldfield with one new cabin heater fitted, they turned it around in a day and had me in a courtesy car so no complaints there. I have two years of warranty left, will be giving it back before that as I imagine out of warranty things like this will get very expensive.

A resistive heater is old, proven technology. It's essentially a resistive material, like a wire, through which you put current through to heat it up. It doesn't get any simpler than that.
I am still using my college dorm toaster! <== at 230 V

Product suspended due to frequent failure.
In the ratings someone has had to replace their Porsche Toaster 5 times due to no heat.
Being stranded with no cabin heat is one thing, but no toast .... that's serious!

They sell it here in the US too. Funny, you can get the same toaster, from the same store, without the PORSCHE branding for $230, but the PORSCHE branding will run you over 50% extra ($350).
Try the Porsche Child seats - the same exact models without the Porsche logo from Britax Römer are about half the price.

I received this email almost two months ago.
I haven’t acted on it yet since I hit a deer a little over a week later, so that repair has been top priority.
Heater is still working fine.

I’ll call the dealer next week.
(Same dealer not getting back to the collision shop about the replacement part for the damage front camera wire.)

But curious if anyone else has received this email?
Does the dealer automatically agree to replace the heater?
Mine was replace preemptively in fall 2023, and it was done while I waited. I’m hoping that relatively painless process can happen again!

Yes I received this message in my Porsche app. Weirdly I never received an email even though I get most of these notifications in email as well.

After an app update this message disappeared from my app inbox entirely so I couldn’t tell my service center exactly what the message said. They said it didn’t matter they did see a recall notice on my heater (also strange to me that the lone app notice wasn’t worded as a recall, but it is on my service invoice).

Service center replaced the heater. Advisor told me I was lucky they just got new heaters in so I’ve received a new generation one.
