Radar Detector question

Has anyone installed a direct wire for a radar detector in their Taycan? I have an Escort Max Detector that’s needs to be hardwired and not sure about the install. I heard anything connected to the fuse box may void the warranty. And the battery is so small.
Thanks.

I have the Escort Max Ci in mine and it's flawless.

There's an excellent DIY thread on how to do a hardwired radar detector install. It's for a V1 but it should be applicable to your Escort.

I've been hardwiring detectors to the fuse box in vehicles for years and have never had a warranty issue. Also, if you pick a switched circuit as described in the DIY link you don't have to worry about battery drain since the detector is only on when the vehicle is in operation.

my dealership is an authorized installer, the price seems to be fixed so I'll see if they sell it as well.
Mine as well - only way I'd have it installed was by an authorized Escort dealer that is also my Porsche dealership.

@jmeys23 read the thread mentioned by @Mike in CA. If you are comfortable doing some basic wiring using a fuse tap, go ahead and do it. I have used the same method for a variety of detectors including V1, Escort and Radenso in many different cars. If you are not comfortable have a shop that installs detectors or car stereos install the detector. Unless the detector is the direct cause of a problem with the car, it will not void the warranty. I have never seen a posting on any of the car or radar detector forums that I follow mention that a warranty was voided due to a radar detector installation.
