I have had my 2021 Taycan 4S (pre owned w 5k miles) for just a few weeks. When I first got It when I charge it to 80% it used to list 188 miles. The other day however it listed 181 miles for the same 80% charge. Today it is listing 179 miles.

has anyone had a similar experience?
Is this normal? Should I be worried?

It sounds like the guessometer is adjusting to your driving style which could be more, err, adventurous than the previous owner’s. Could also be due to temperature changes. Has it got cooler where you are in the last couple of days?

No don't worry....
As said above, it will just be some anomoly in something (driving style / outside temperature etc etc).

Remember the 'range' guesstimate at the start of a journey is no different than in an ICE car.

What you actually achieve on the journey may be completely different due to numerous factors (is your mum driving it to the shops or are you on the start line at a track day!).

Depends on the weather/ ambient temperature so I would not be concerned at this stage.

Meaning it will increase in range with different temps? It is getting warmer in Pittsburgh but I didn’t think it would affect it that much.

also are people charging only to 80%?

Yes, all other things being equal (driving style, journey length, AC use) the higher the temperature the higher the expected range

I often charge above 80% but I use the car nearly every day. I believe the advice is not to charge above 80% if your taycan is sitting unused for extended periods

I used to generally charge to 80% but now generally charge to 85% (in line with what many on here do).
The battery already has a 10% inbuilt buffer - so it's actually less.

Exeptions are:
a long journey the next day = 100%.
Not driving it for some time = <80%.

Usually between 80-90% but like @Fish Fingers if I have a long journey the next day I try to give it a full charge. I don’t aim for a specific percentage, once I go below about 60% I plug it in for charging and I have four hours of very cheap rate electricity every night. My EVSE knows this and switches on for those hours and adds about 30%

85% daily when needed.
