I got my PPF installed (XPEL), at a price that some would call professional (5.5k) I think.

I am yet to go back for the two week revision and touch up. Can you please share your thoughts and advice on which areas I should insist on? I noticed that the installer always tries to convince me that things are fine.

Would love to hear some thoughts. Overall it’s a fairly good job and all the edges are wrapped. The photos I posted are the only faults I found.

I would say that it is pretty good! That is indeed a "professional" price, as well.

If you are willing to go back and have him touch things up, I would consider the areas in the following shots, as those have some potential to pull up over time.

For the following, u could have them fix it, but they are likely to simply cut it because of it's location:

The rest are simply slightly suboptimal cuts, which they are likely to say are within tolerance and can't be fixed.

EDIT: I can't really comment on the headlight PPF, as I have never done that to (or seen it on) a car.

Thanks @KensingtonPark ! I am going back on the 20th! I was a bit concerned about the corner close towards the front of the car. Since it didn't wrap around the edge, I was concerned that dust and air could result in raising, but you haven't even mentioned that one in your comments so I assume that means it's fine and won't raise?

Generally speaking, the high end shops that do PPF make it such that you cannot tell that the PPF is present. They perform some light disassembly and wrap/tuck the edges.

This work is in the average category (below average in a couple of areas) and I would definitely have as many visible areas fixed as possible. Dirt will collect at the seams. Fortunately for you, you have a dark colored car so most of the dirt should be less noticeable. Good luck.

It is not going to raise, but every exposed seam like this will collect a little dirt. I also believe it really can't be fixed. Agree with @RAHRCR that the top shops do it better (I don't have one of those close enough to me to justify the trip) and you're less likely to notice the dirt because you have a darker car.

not sure what areas all these high def pics represent, but overall looks like the contractor didn't allow for enough material cut to roll over and conceal edges underneath hood, inside wheel wells, inside headlight housings

I would def go back and review all with an attentive employee representative as I did with my guy

My 5.5k did a little bit job (not too much) but 5.5k is actually low for not pre-cut wrap. So we get what we paid for. Good -perfect full wrap is 7k+ in LA area

This is about average, and what I would expect at most places. Even places that are good have lazy days or lazy employees that just don't care.

There is only one place I've been to that cares enough to do the job very well. They also have a 4-6 month wait, charge a lot more, and only have the two original owners and maybe one or two people on staff.

I think average is OK given it's a Taycan. It's honestly not going to be a classic.

Yes, but paying 5.5k in Romania is the equivalent of paying 12k in LA 😅

It is not going to raise, but every exposed seam like this will collect a little dirt.
In my very limited experience with PPF - factory installed - my result was different. Dirt did collect in the seam that was marginally raised - slowly worked its way under and it did start to lift.
I got that fixed asap, as I suspect the longer you leave it, the more reduced the power of any warranty becomes as it may open you up the risk of swerves like 'its because you jet washed it, so it's your fault'. Maybe I'm just cynical!

Anyway, get it fixed, especially where the costs are a little ragged/lifted. Best case scenario if you don't is it will become more noticeable.

I just got my car this weekend…it was PPF’d at a high end shop (along with several other services). It is very difficult to find the seams. They went out of their way to minimize and hide them. If the OP paid top dollar in their area, this is what they should expect.

I did get that, but do take into consideration that I have posted the faults exclusively and I am yet to see what they will do in the revision …

that wrap job is garbage. what is their instagram so we can check out some of the other work they do. And it will only get worse after time, the the film is not sticking to the body now they will only loosen / bubble more over time. if you do not like it now, you will hate it in 6 months. for 12K (USD LA prices) everyone on this board should have alot of trouble finding any issues. also what is up with the streaks / smears did they not put Ceramic coat on after looks like a bad wash job. this is something you would normaly see as the before in before and after photos.
