RecovR Theft Recovery Or Similar?

My car is at the port and my SA thinks he will have the car soon. I asked for the final price and I see he has added an optional RecovR Vehicle Theft Recovery System for $1,295. It lasts for 3 years and includes hardware and service charges.

Was anyone else offered this by their dealer or anything similar? I couldn't find any threads about RecovR specifically.

Is it worth it?

If I was that worried about the car being stolen, I wouldn’t buy it. Seems like a lot of unnecessary anxiety to create for myself.

Maybe it depends on where you live.

But wouldn’t insurance cover it if it were stolen anyway?

The car will be garaged but cars still get stolen, I guess. I've never bothered with a service like that. Does the Taycan come with good enough security protection as standard? Does it have built in location software via Porsche Connect?

?‍ It has door locks. The windows roll up also. Apparently the alarm goes off whether you want it to or not.

Not something I worry about.

Yes, but I believe it’s disabled if the car is put into private…but that would require a thief to figure out the PCM, which half the forum members can’t do…so you’re probably safe. ?
