Thanks ! It is as far back as possible on the bars. I can shift the bars back a bit. Will give it try if I have to put them on. Where do you put the pillow? In front or in the middle?
Front, although pressure in both ends is good. It’s just to keep the top from vibrating against the bottom at high speeds.

Hi All,

Has anyone here used both the Porsche cross bars and the Thule cross bars to compare?

I own both. I have only used the Thule because, intuitively, it seem like sitting closer to the car should be better for aero, and they look really nice. I also know they do not damage the roof rails.

I am tempted to sell the tequipment bars since they are backordered and I don't need two, but I was wondering whether my assumptions about the superiority of the Thule bars is accurate.

Has anyone owned both and compared performance between the two?

Is it worth it for me to try the tequipment (but if I do, they would no longer be new in box), or should I just sell them.
I would sell it. I have the thule ones and have no complaints. I know that I will never be happy with the taller porsche bars. Thule is solid, I’ve had them on previous cars.

Hi,
I was also to buy the Vector box but due to strong recommendation from local Thule dealer to Alpine model (for extra space) I chose that one.
Now just need to get some snow :)

Is this the motion X Alpine or the Vector Alpine? Looks great. I wanted a shorter box because I use for bags, not for skis. For more room this is the best solution indeed. The other ones are higher.

The motion X. The Vector has a glossy bottom part. And the nose of the vector dives more. It also has a white interior. Big price difference
Mahoosive price difference. I ruin anything with a white interior..!

Yes it is much more expensive en the top looks identical. Only the top interior is white. And it had lamps. Makes it easier in the dark.

The motion xt alpine may be the better choice compared to the vector alpine.

I'm considering an extended road trip and taking the Taycan. Aside from charging questions, which I will post elsewhere, this thread has me wondering about the use of a Thule roof carrier. I have the fixed anchor points and ordered the requisite Thule parts for the bars. I have the Thule Motion XT carrier in a shade of grey that just happens to match my Cayenne perfectly.

How much will this roof carrier cost me in efficiency? Assuming I'm staying under 75mph. As I recall with the Cayenne, the limit is 80mph.

I find the impact of the roofbox to be marginal up to around 60mph. After that it gets more pronounced. It was difficult to make exact comparisons - and i stopped caring, honestly - but as I recall the impact on efficiency was between 3 and 9% (as in higher conso).

As a data point: 933mi trip, 61mph avg, 47.7kWh/100mi consumption (4CT). Mine’s the Inno Wedge (which is a bit thinner than the Vector), sitting on OEM bars+towers (which are a bit taller than the Thule). I’ve taken it to triple digits without any fuss.

For me range decreased around 10%. Most important I didn’t need an extra charger stop on my 900 km trip (4 going, 3 returning, return trip starts down hill 35 km)

The reason why I still try to travel without if possible is the noise while driving in Germany.
