My near side front tire has blistered on the side wall while not damaging the rim at all. There was just some traces of blue paint on the rim next to the blister?!
No idea how it happened.
It’s a Pirelli NFO 21’ tyre
The car has done 7000 miles and there is 5-6mm tread on off side front.
Do I replace just the damaged tyre only or both front tyres?
Cheers

Your right on the margin. Most guides recommended no more the 3/32" or 2.38mm difference on 4x4. I haven't checked the manual to see if it gives any guidance. You could ask Porsche GB but I'm guessing they would probably say change all 4 🙈

New tyres are 8mm so I would replace just the one! Get a quote from Costco first!!!

I would probably replace just one. You can get the new tyre shaved to take a mm or two off it. Google tyre saving uk

Mine had 9k miles on it when a nail punctured it too close to the edge to repair. It had 5mm left so I replaced both. Luckily I had the warranty so I only paid for one. I took the good one home in case it happens again then I would have a spare.

Yes, it really depends on whether it is 5 or 6mm
<5 means 2 for me. >6 is one.
5-6 is the ‘DONT know ‘ region
Porsche are happy for one using the 30% or 2.4mm rule.
I need to double check that OSF tyre.
Car is at Porsche so will pop down Monday.

If it’s 6mm plus then I will just fit.
Shaving would grieve me!
I would replace at 3 anyway so if 5 or under I will fit 2 and keep the <5mm as spare

I’d replace both and keep the existing non-blistered tyre as a spare.

I would replace both and take I damaged tyre as emergency spare

The car has to torque and power to risk skidding. After all it is your only contact point with the road and you don’t want different grip levels from tyre to tyre

Not these ones. They are only 7mm. After the first Porsche I bought I thought I was getting through the tyre a bit fast so have taken to measuring the tread when new. They are all 7mm

Both Taycans I have owned started with 7mm. Michelin PS4 and Pirelli cinturato. I always check them now so I know where I am starting from

Is Costco really any good? I just checked my car, no choices for the rear and can't see if they are NF0 rated either.

As aside, where do they actually fit them? My nearest costco seems to have a big warehouse full of tyres, but not sure i can work out where they actually fit them!!

I can recommend Costco for dishwasher tablets.

Like MyTyres, Black Circles and Asda in UK they just wholesale tyres.
When you buy you allocate a fitter such as a Protyre place who get paid £15-20 and you go there for fitting.

You know what! I am getting Devu ja!
I knew this. I have been watching
U tube videos on EV specific tyres.
They tend to have less tread because:

1 They are more efficient squashing less air out of the way.
2 Less grooves so more rubber in contact with road so that balances tread depth as the wear takes longer.

Excellent news as the old tyre will definitely be within acceptable margin
2.4mm or 30% (2.1mm) of 7m
The older OSF tyre is definitely over 5mm.
cheapest tyre I could find for
265 35 21 NFO tyre was
National £341
MyTyres £373
ASDA £313
Costco never came up on searches.
