I thought I'd resurrect this old (but very helpful) thread to offer a NEW UK RECORD.

Quote for first service from OPC High Wycombe:
- Service: £657.58 (inspection, brake fluid, particle filter)
- Water drains: £921.92 (front including remove wiper arm; [mythical] sunroof; door sills including remove wheel and trim)

TOTAL: £1579.50.

Obviously I won't be going there. But it does show astonishingly high variability in what Porsche dealers think is "required".

The cover note, consistent with what others have heard from some but not all OPCs, says "I have also attached a quotation for additional water drain checks. This is to prevent water ingress down the line. If these checks are not carried out, then there is a possibility it could invalidate the warranty if you were to ever have water ingress in the future. This service is optional."

I'm going to get some further quotes, and also see if I can find an access/pressure point to get Porsche UK to provide more clarity on what is covered by the warranty. Drains that can often get blocked sounds to me like a design fault which, like heaters, should be preemptively fixed either by warranty work or put in scope for the standard service -- or covered by warranty when a problem arises. This is a Porsche UK issue as much as an OPC "opportunity".

Is there like a Buckinghamshire + Porsche tax going on there? Ouch

I paid way less than that back in December at EXACTLY the same dealership - total cost was £525.97.

Incidentally, my Taycan is no more. I bit the bullet and swapped to a 2 month old Porsche Cayenne S with a nice V8 petrol engine - no more range anxiety for me. That said, I’d happily go back to an electric car when the charging infrastructure and battery range improve…

Both those service costs are a good chunk (at least 10%) higher than Colchester....

Lets not normalise these outrageous service costs - I didn't buy into an EV for services that cost more than ones that inc 12 Litres of Mobil 1 and 2 air filters for an Aston V12. They are absolutely trying it on IMHO which is extremely concerning.

Yes but I checked with them and they “look at the drains as part of the service and advise” which at least is a lower minimum but could still be a high price if they do want to pull panels off and clean drains.

A bird in the hand etc.

I'll see what they advise, and will advise back accordingly ?

My surprise, sorry i mean 'preventative' "clean out bulkhead and battery drains' was £380 in October after a argue/haggle which got the cost down by 100 odd.

Just got my first service on a Taycan done today at Porsche Centre Dublin. It is in because it hit 30,000km – rather than two years old.

Total of €382.06 (£327).

Quite impressed with that. New Taycan loaner given and my car returned same day.

Considering its a Turbo S and I drive it as such: happy to see factory summer tyres at 5mm all round and only 10% of brake pads worn.

So consider a road-trip in Ireland this summer and incorporate a service visit!

What tyres do you have and how many miles have they done? I know that many of your miles will have been on your winter tyres. I have Pirelli Cinturato on mine and they have worn unevenly on the rear - not impressed with them at all. Will be lucky if they are legal after about 11-12k miles (worn on the insides) on my Turbo.

Summer's are the Pirelli P Zero PZ4 NF0 at 21". They have approximately 18,000km/11,000 miles on them and I think probably have 25,000km/15,000 miles left in them until they reach the 1.6mm legal limit – though I tend to swap tyres when they reach 3mm of thread left.

Swapping to winters definitely helping here as even driving around in Ireland/UK weather – is saving the summers from premature wearing out of the rubber compound once below 10c.

Interesting. Thanks. I had a 4S that had PS4 tyres - they wore much more evenly. Different car, but I think the Michelins were much better although probably not as quiet.

That was a very low cost!

The difference that the Porsche centres charge is staggering. Your costs here is more what I would have expected for the details that have been performed. Seems the garages need extra income when ICE cars do not require all the oil and filters any longer

The car tax in Ireland I think is the most expensive in EU. The cost of a new Porsche is 30-40% more than in the US and UK.
