Looking for opinions on why Porsche service departments in the East Bay of the Bay Area are so inept.

I’ve had my car serviced three times in the past year for warranty related repairs and recalls. Twice I visited Walnut Creek, once in Livermore (yes Livermore is a real place) and all three experiences were subpar, and I mean poor.

Looking for opinions as to why service at Porsche dealerships is so bad.

Here’s a few ideas. Let me know your thoughts.
  1. Taycan owners, with all the recalls, are caught between local dealers and Porsche the corporation? I’ve heard rumblings of reimbursement arguments between the two. Taycan owners, stuck in the middle, suffer the consequences.
  2. Porsche dealers are struggling to make ends meet, therefore their service departments are understaffed.
  3. The whole world operates at a C- grade and Porsche is no longer an exception.

I had pretty good experience with Livermore sales/service.
Sometimes with the taycan they can't help with the recalls because Porsche doesn't have a remedy or the parts/software available

Mine has spent some time at WC. Livermore is closer to me and practically down the freeway but purchased in WC. Service from the folks are good but I think it’s the availability of techs that know how to work on Taycans and Macan EVs are limited. It just takes awhile and if they don’t know, it’s a waiting game with the engineers from Germany.

I also have had pretty good experience at Livermore Porsche. Both in sales and service....

Woodland Hills near L.A. specialized in Taycan sales and has a great service department.

My experience with Porsche Redwood City has been spot on. They are knowledgeable and efficient. I know it means a trip across the bridge but it’s worth it.

Thanks Cap’n - I’ll seriously consider that location for my next service.
