Hello,

We are on it to enhance Sportsound Volume by amplifying the Sound. Also we want to modulate Sound to give several options for customizing with a module to attach to the Harness to Plug it in between.

We got a complete Set of Wiring Diagrams for the Taycan but it makes no sense.

In the Plan there are 2x12 Pin Connectors but in reality the Module only has one 12 Pin connector.

Also diverging to the Sport Sound retrofit guide it seems that there is only the big Speaker in the Back and none inside of the Car.

Just drop the rear seats.
Volume increases ++++
Have a drive around and enjoy the fun.
Then put the seats back up and turn the sound off and enjoy the silence.
Or play Enjoy the Silence.
Classic track.

if wiring is not fitting may be you are mixing the AVAS Sound Generator and the optional Sportsound? Their ECUs look very similar and their names as well.

See the "E-Sound Generator GM3 Installation and Conversion Instructions" posted here:
and discussed here:
The kit includes two rear door speakers in addition to the large exterior speaker.
We bought a separate Module from the Conversion Guide, and it's the same as found in the Car. It can be switched with the built-in module in the car. So we have the correct Module. In the Car Wiring Diagram, there can be no other Sound module to be found. My guess is that they got rid of the interior Speakers somewhere after 2020. Also, My car is MY2023 and the Instructions are from 2020

Why would anyone want to retrofit one of the worst features in the Taycan??

I hate the darn thing.

Guess I'm old.
‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder‘ 😉

on the serious side, I included in my spec as I am constantly on edge when driving near pedestrians in my current automobile, (named ‘Butt X’ (as in ugly’)), as it does not have any sound and people just walk out in front. How ever I think these gentlemen are aiming with different aims and goals.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10208593-0001.pdf is from 2021 and did not change with the model years 20-23

the optional Sport sound ECU can be exchanged with the AVAS??? I doubt that very much.
How can you say it was not changed for sure ?

I meant that we clearly have located the Sport sound Module in the Car since its the same Number as in the Guide.

There does not seem to be a AVAS Module in the Wiring Diagram. Look at the table of contents your self. Also, the Module name in the Diagram which i posted before is called " Sportsound" . That does not sound like AVAS.

As we’ve previously discussed it’s a very marmite feature.

I didn’t spec it deliberately. FOMO? Not a chance 😂

I ticked the box to get it but would not buy it again turned it on a few times but to be brutally honest I felt embarrassed whilst driving through a village so guess I may be getting old as well

Same is for PSE Porsche Sport exhaust on ICE cars.
Hate it or love it. There is not much in between 🤷‍♂️

Your Taycan will have the standard pedistrian alert sound which keeps you legal.

I optioned ES on my 4S and thought it was a bad decision after a few times at using it and came standard on my GTS ST.

If anything it has a 'use' in underground car parks where the sound is quite noticeable and is audible over other noises.

As a side note to this thread, I cannot believe that Porsche has yet again another module with single functionality.

Almost all manufacturers have 1 module for 1 function; 1 ECU/module for electric windows, another for the suspension, and another for the interior lights, etc. etc.

All of this increases costs, multiplies the points of failure, increases complexity, weight, and power consumption (all of these things go against light weight, low cost, low power consumption that all EV manufacturers strive for). It also means that there's a ton more points of failure in the supply chain, because if the module that controls your headlights is unavailable then the whole car cannot be delivered. It's ridiculous. I suspect this is because of the silo'd nature of the engineering teams working at Porsche and other major manufacturers.

Tesla got one thing right in having a much smaller number (a handful IIRC) of ECUs doing multiple jobs, similar to having a "general purpose" server on the car.

Yes, there are ways to guarantee performance/response time of a multifunction OS (things like realtime operating systems) but if Porsche software developers cannot get PCM to remember radio stations reliably then I wouldn't bet my money on them.
