Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to gather some feedback from other Taycan owners. I’ve been dealing with an issue where the rear windows on my Taycan catch on the door frame, making a loud "pinging" noise when the doors are opened. Dealer has told me this is "normal," but I’m struggling to accept that.

I also own another Taycan (a base model), and the rear windows on that vehicle operate perfectly without this issue. So I’m curious—how many of you have rear doors that open smoothly without the windows catching on the glass?

I’d really appreciate any input, especially from owners who don’t have this problem, as I’m trying to demonstrate that this isn’t a standard issue.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Both my rear door's windows retract sufficiently when you pull the door handle for it to clear the groove in the roof when they open.

The only time I had what you describe was when the driver's door was heavily covered in ice.

No such issue on mine. As mentioned previously, the windows open slightly when the doors are opened. Is this not happening on yours?

I had that issue with the front passenger window. Anyway, took the car in and they ordered a new regulator. Part came in, but the tech realized that the fix was in a service bulletin and no new regulator req'd. All better now. ?

Not had this issue.

Have you tried the window relearning procedure to recalibrate?

Worth a shot and instructions in Owners Manual.

Definitely not normal. The glass is supposed to retract to clear the door trim.
It does , I am having to wait for it to drop , so in other words it’s not one motion , so the window is too slow to drop . Like I said no issues like that on my base model

Yes I opens slightly , but I have to up the handle wait then pull , then I can open the door , unlike my other taycan that I can open like a normal car door
