Could that be more 20 vs 21 than the tire manufacturer?I just went from my 20 inch winters to the goodyear 5s 21s and my god are they loud! Trying michelins next round I think
Yeah I definitely think so. But ive been told the michelins are marginally quieter inside the car and I rarely drive at 10/10ths anyway nowadaysCould that be more 20 vs 21 than the tire manufacturer?
Michelin CrossClimate2 if you want it to do double duty as a winter tire.Ok sounds like maybe not the best choice then.
What is the consensus today for a daily driver / commuter 20" all season all around tire for the CT4?
Ah, now I remember -- available in the Taycan staggered 21" but not 20".The Conti DWS 06 Plus looks perfect, however not available in 285/40-20 unfortunately it seems

I dont think we need the severe snow service rating.

Maybe our best bet for 20" is just to go with the old tried and true PS4's? Happy with them in the wet with the 997. Will do some more research but happy to hear other opinions and feedback

You can get PZero Rs, yes?2024 J1.1 GTS Sport Turismo on 21" Spyder RS wheels here. Went from Pirelli PZero's to NF1 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's recently.
They don't seem any louder than the PZero's, dry grip seems about the same, as does comfort. Wet grip and performance in cold conditions (I'm in Scotland, UK) over the PZero's is noticeably better. Very little in the way of the Ackerman effect in cold temperatures, compared to the PZero's which made an awful noise and skipped badly when turning at slow speeds, pulling out of junctions.
Will see how they do wear rate wise, PZero's had about 2.5 to 3mm left at 16k miles. Anything approaching that on the ASY5's would be good.
Unfortunately on the J1.1 on 21"'s the choice is essentially PZero's or ASY5's. Which is disappointing as I had PS4S's and CSC7's on my previous cars (G81 M3 and M340i Touring) and they were fantastic.

Interesting note: my old Asymmetric 3s were really bad with 'Ackerman' noise/skipping - then I replaced them with exactly the same tyres: nothing! - no noise or skipping on full lock. The old fronts looked fine except when removed the inside shoulders were down to the cordsVery little in the way of the Ackerman effect in cold temperatures, compared to the PZero's which made an awful noise and skipped badly when turning at slow speeds, pulling out of junctions.
