My 2020 4S MSRP $149k, loaner 2020 4S MSRP $113k. My opinion on what options are really important after driving a stripper 4S for a few days.

I thought the gt steering wheel came with sport chrono? The $280 is just to get it heated.
Not the case. See pic below from USA configurator.

I bought a loaded Dolomite Silver Taycan 4S in early November 2020 and as my car is having the software update, I now am driving a loaner 4S with no options. My car has full leather, Mission E wheels with PSCB, Innodrive, premium and performance packages. You may find it hard to believe, but after driving a basic 4S with no options other than those that came on the 2020 Taycan 4S (mobile charger connect/pano roof/big battery), the only options I think are absolutely necessary are:

1) 93.4 kWh battery $5570
2) sport chrono package (little wheel on steering wheel is a must have) $1320
3) Heated GT Sport Steering Wheel (base steering wheel too thin and is uncomfortable) $280
*4) Adaptive Cruise Control (* only for those who drive significant highway miles) $2050
*5) 25 foot charging cable (* only if you buy the mobile charger connect. My car is sitting halfway out of the garage to fit the 8 ft charging cable to my charge port) $0

All the other options I have on my car are fluff in my opinion as a no option 4S handles really well, is really fun to drive, has smoother ride with 19" wheels than my 21" wheels/tires, and has greater range with the smaller wheels. The red brakes stop the car really well when greater than regen braking is needed. Full leather or race-tex interior is really nice, but the standard interior is perfectly fine and saves $5000 after taxes. Any appearance options are basically costly personal preferences.

Would I order a new one like this if I had the opportunity to do it over again, probably not because I can afford to option it out how I'd really want it. But for someone who doesn't want to or cannot afford to spend more money , I would highly recommend a lighter optioned 4S over a base Taycan with more options. Speed, performance, handling is all that is necessary.
I am currently in a 4S loaner and it has a lot of the same equipment as my car which is optioned pretty heavily similar to yours, and I think you are 100% accurate. I love my car but would have still loved it without a lot of the options I got. My car has everything I wanted in it, full leather Bordeaux and black, sport chrono, 21" Mission E wheels, Metallic paint, RWS, PSCB's with white calipers, BOSE, GT Sport heated wheel in carbon fiber, carbon fiber interior trim package, 4+1 rear seats, red sport chrono clock, PDLS+, black trim exterior for badge and windows, PCCB with 25' cable, etc. I probably spent an extra $30,000 on items just because I thought they were cool and would make the car exactly how I wanted, and I had no cost restrictions. The smartest and still great car would have been to buy a 4S with just a few driving performance options like RWS, Sport Chrono, and not much else. Thanks for your input on your experience with this type of build!

What is contrary to my post on that pic? Both heated steering wheel and heated gt steering wheel are the same price. Because you pick the former if you didn’t get short chrono and the latter if you did

Was so close to ordering my base Rwd with 9k (gbp) of extras. I don’t want to pay for a massive spec so have gone for basics until wife added a few bits!
ive gone turbo aero wheels
Bose sound
Standard half leather
Steel sprung suspension
Privacy windows
Folding wing mirrors
Metallic paint
Driver memory package
Sport sound
Power steering
Reverse camera
Panoramic roof
I’m open to any advice. I currently drive one of the first 997 carrera which I love but know times have moved on.
Sorry if this is wrong place but my first forum post!
My advice is to get fewer options and spend your money on a 4S instead.

No way I would own one without full leather. That and the larger battery are key. Partial just doesn't feel up to par for a Porsche. (I ordered black/red leahter)
Is the partial leather a different quality than the full leather (the typical grainy automotive leather vs smooth leather)? Or does the full just give you more coverage? I really like the soft smooth leather in my Range Rover sport and would hate to go back to grainy leather. Seems like a small thing but once you've had nice leather it's hard to go back. That being said, I'm not sure I can stomach the 4k that Porsche wants for it (If i choose to spend another 4k there will always be other options that I'll likely choose before i add full leather).

The full leather is definitely higher grade. Definitely much nicer. Standard interior is ok but if you can afford it, full leather is a nice upgrade.

I've had heated steering wheels in other vehicles. Even when I lived in a cold climate I found it not nearly as important as heated seats.
Heated steering wheel not so important as you can preheat car before you set off, especially in U.K. when it’s only really cold for a few weeks.

It's the same leather quality, full leather just covers the dash and doors etc. Olea is the higher quality leather for more $$$.

The Olea leather also covers the seat backs and is slightly more supple than the full leather. I had the Olea and now have the full leather. I am just as happy with the full leather as I was the Olea. To me, there is just not that much difference between the two options. I prefer the color options of the full leather.

It does or you can order it a la carte.

The seat leather in my full leather car seems softer and smoother than the loaner. Maybe it's because I use Wolfgangs leather conditioner every 6 months.
