I’m on my second. The first was a 2021 4s. The only issue I had was the ubiquitous broken heater. Other than that, it was great. I think the guy who I sold it to has bought wisely.

I’ve just taken delivery of my second car, this time a GTS. Specs and colour are pretty much the same but I added a few more (unnecessary) things like coloured stitching and Bordeaux seat belts. If I have no issues with this car, I think I will keep it for longer.

In today's (my local) market, buying a used Taycan seems to be the best deal around by far. That is unless you need to carry 5 people or need a real high range frequently. 70- 75K Euro gets you a low mileage car that was over 130K just two and a half years ago. Add roughly 1000 Euro/year to extend the Porsche warranty and ( with the heater and electronics mostly sorted today) you should have a trouble free ownership of an awesome looking and driving car for many years to come. Configuring any other and comparatively very average looking and driving car to my liking typically gets it well over 60k here. So that quickly settles it for me. I still have an inner smile every time I look at my car. The only real alternative would be a Dacia Duster at 20K. But that would require a rational and objective view on transportation needs and then I would not be on this forum :)

I've had my Taycan since December 2022 and it really is an amazing, brilliant car to drive. I got it on PCP deliberately, rather than buying it outright, because of the potential technology advances in EV's in the future. The MY I have seems to be really solid, until it developed the fault with the boot latch not working. Porsche have not been good with this at all and so it is making me think twice. I'd previously had outstanding after-care with a local Audi garage, but I may just have been lucky.

So, I am thinking of options at the end of the 3 years as/when it comes. I absolutely love the car but the things that give me second thoughts are the upcoming battery advances (2025 onwards maybe), plus the customer care not being as good as I expect in terms of timescales when I consider the car to be unusable 3-4 times a week when I need it.

IMO there are currently no alternatives that give you everything that the Taycan gives you. Maybe the Emeya will offer similar looks/performance/handling?

Is my car battery not normal then? This has me paranoid that perhaps I have a bad battery. How do I check battery health?
Drain battery down to under 20% let it sit over night then recharge it back up. If there are any bad cells it will throw codes. Just be ready that your car may become inoperable if it triggers enough codes.

I obsessed over the Mission E when it was first shown in 2015. My jaw dropped when the Taycan was unveiled and was so close to the Mission E. When speculation of a Sport Turismo variant popped up I spent way too much time scouring the Internet for spy shots and rumors. When the ST was released as a GTS-only variant in the US I damn near cried as it wasn't in the cards given my financial reach at the time. The financial side was resolved, but then I (like many others) spent over a year on two waiting lists with nothing to show. Frustrated out of my mind I damn near gave up (took myself off the waiting lists). Eight months of searching dealer lots later I found almost the exact spec I wanted, CPO, <500mi on the clock, and $20k off original MSRP. In August I flew part way across the country to test drive it and sign the paperwork.
Since August not a day has gone by where I haven't looked at the car (or at least a picture of it when I'm out of town). My cheek muscles are more defined now from the constant smiling 🤣. I've spent a week's worth of hours washing and cleaning it. I've "forgotten" items from my shopping list enough times my wife asked if I needed to see a specialist. I've spent way too much time planning fun drives I can go on. I've loved every second behind the wheel.

So, would I buy it again? Holy $#!+ yes and with 100% less hesitation when pulling the trigger.

We just leased our Taycan base sedan 4 days ago so obviously I can’t answer yet with a total degree of certainty, but if I absolutely had to say right now, yes I would do it again.

Range right now not great, but has been below freezing constantly since we picked it up Saturday and it’s brand new with total mileage of just 175. I read that range will improve after about 1,875 mi, but realize that range will still be lacking in winter. We mostly knew this going in. And it will be DD with no long trips so not a big deal for us. Hubby has an Audi SQ5 so T not our only vehicle.

I swore I’d never get an EV. Traded a 23 loaded BMW 840i that I absolutely loved beyond measure. But, hubby has wanted an EV for awhile so I humored him by testing the Audi etron GT and the Taycan. Joke is on me though bc the T blew my mind and I decided to give up my 8 for it…he left the decision completely up to me.

I will miss things about the 8, not sure anyone does functionality better than BMW for one thing.

But for me the T is not about being an EV, it’s about everything else about it. It looks like an F1 race car, especially in Neptune, it handles better than any car I've ever driven and we’ve had some sports cars over the years although this is our first Porsche. It carries people and cargo to boot. It’s super quick and ride is sublime even on bad roads with chassis in Sport Plus. Being an EV is just one of its attributes.

Without a shadow of doubt. Has ticked all the boxes for me i) very enjoyable as a daily driver ii) good looks + fairly practical and iii) versatility to go from a comfortable GT for long road trips to a reactive, fast sports car to enjoy on quirky countryside roads.

Add to that all the UK tax breaks + other incentives in central London such as no congestion charge and free/reduced street parking.

As far as depreciating assets go, best money spent ever:)

Bought a 2030 Turbo new in June 2020.
The car has been perfect, no issues, and I love driving it.
17,000 miles to date.
Has it depreciated? Yes! Who cares.

It’s an interesting question.

i just came out of a frozen gray M8 gran coupe with an upgraded akrapovic exhaust. Car was amazing on so many levels with exception for ride comfort.

That said the M8 played into my impulses wearing off. I’m nearly 50. The car was my daily but I work from home so I’m going to be a 5-7k miles per year guy on my daily.

The impulses that wear off are around the satin finish, loud exhaust, aggressive styling. I’ve gotten that out of my system.

I got the Turbo S in metallic black with the black Olea club leather comfort seats. Pretty much all desired options.

So I’m still driving a rocket ship. It has a better ride by a lot. And it’s a little understated as crazy as that sounds when you have a Porsche. Seems like the best of both worlds.

So unless something goes horribly wrong, which it could, it feels like I’d buy again.
