Are all J1.2 Taycan 4 through the Taycan Turbo S, the exact same hardware, therefore tunable to the exact same power and torque?
Taycan 4 to Turbo.
Turbo S has a different front inverter and makes 140hp more and the Turbo GT makes 100 more than that.

Of course at high SoC only.

it depends on what your primary use of the car is for. If it's a daily, then 4 and 4S is the sweet spot for pricing, performance, range and features.

However, if you do mountain runs and other types of performance driving, the GTS' suspension tune should provide incremental benefits. This is just me recounting what I've read...lol but in seriousness, GTS has its own unique suspension tuning.

For spirited daily driving 4S is more than adequate. Make sure it has all the necessary options that you want. For me options are more important than a sporty tuned suspension.

The GTS is commonly referred to as the 'sweet spot' in the range.

I went for the GTS as the GTS interior pack with crayon belts etc made the cockpit feel special. I have never been a fan of the Taycan leather seats.

J1.1 GTS, J1.2 I would just go with the best spec since they are all the same hardware.

It's hard to put into words exactly, but the GTS is better than it's sum of parts.
I've driven every iteration of the Taycan (except the Turbo GT), and it just "feels" nicer / special to drive, even though it's not the fastest trim level.

Having said that, I'm in the UK surrounded by twisty country roads. Might be diminishing returns in the land of straight roads!

The entrance/exiting height of the 4S is greater than the GTS by about 1”. That is important to some, e.g., of course not at all and conversely a negative for others.

Similarly the approach and departure angles are greater for the 4S.

Spec both to your taste and see if the price difference is worth it to you.
That is what I did, and FWIW, I went for the CT4S over a GTS ST.

The reasons were partly that I am bored rigid by a black interior so the best (IMO) feature of the GTS, its leather and racetex interior, were no good for me since only available black 🤢 . I also wanted the massage, ventilated seats which meant the GTS with my wanted extras was quite a bit more expensive for, at the time, not much more power. Here with the bumpy heavily cambered roads the CT suspension with an extra 15mm of suspension travel was better than the GTS so it was easy for me, the CT4S was less expensive and better suited to my preferences and driving environment.
I also have relatives who are farmers and the gravel mode is good for negotiating farm tracks ;)

They are exactly the same height if it is the same model e.g. a 4S sedan and a GTS sedan.
If you compare a CT to a ST, then yes, there is a 15mm difference in default ride height.

Point that is made completely moot with the active ride system anyway.

Seat height on a 4S CT with Active Ride is 24 3/4” (measured it today at max height). Sure makes getting and out easier for all but the young and lithe — who have exiting and entrance covered completely and easily. .
