They are firm and I find them comfortable.
My wife who is petite finds the non height adjustable headrest in completely the wrong height for comfort though.

None are soft, it is a sporty car so inappropriate.

The 18-way have bigger bolsters which can be adjusted for width, even better for spirited driving but not so good for shifting position on a long run which I do since I damaged my lower back messing about on the farm as a teenager.
I got the massage backrest which the whole family likes and I use the lumbar massage on long runs.
I believe the standard 8-way are close to the 14-way just fewer adjustments.

I suspect if you want soft seats any car like the Taycan won’t have them.

I have 14-way seats and hadn't really noticed or thought about the firmness- I just find them comfortable. They're certainly not cushioned like sofas, but the wide range of adjustments should enable good posture and support, so maybe not unsuitable for those of with back issues? Definitely worth trying a test drive before ruling them out.

I’ve got 14 way and can’t get comfortable - getting a lot of backache.

my previous car was most comfortable I’ve ever had so I’m feeling this more.

Nice seats and hold you well but for me, something just isn’t right. On the flip side my Mrs say most comfortable she’s been in one of my cars and she couldn’t get comfy in my last one.

Depends on your bodyshape also. I am a fat bastard and the 14 way is better for me then the 18 ways. 18 ways was not comfortable for me as a big guy. Got the 14 way with massage and heat/cooling. The 8 ways is a no no for me.

I have 18-ways on my ‘23 Taycan and 14-ways on my ‘22 Panamera. The 18-ways are substantially more comfortable, with deeper cushioning and better bolstering. I was surprised by how significant the difference is. I spec’d the Panamera with the 14-ways so I could include the massage program.

To be clear, the 14-ways are still pleasant and agreeable - just less so than the 18s in my Taycan. Several friends have remarked on how comfortable the Taycan’s passenger seat is after jumping in.

Of course, seat comfort is almost uniquely subjective, so there’s no substitute for trying for yourself!

The 14 way seats are comfortable, but not super soft or fully adapted to a back. I've been in Q8 Etron and those front seats are amazing, but that car is a comfort driving EV whilst the Taycan is more sport oriented. Some people find the 18 way more comfortable, some people find them less, doubt they become better for a back though or more ergonomic like a massage chair.

After all of the other comments I would suggest an extended test drive at your dealership. If they want to sell a car.......................they need to accommodate the buyers needs. Worst thing would be to take a short drive only to find that after you purchase the car the seat is not comfortable and that you dread driving it. I had a friend that purchased a 911 with 14 way seats and experienced back issues every time that he drove it. His doctor's recommendation.........................don't drive the car. Yikes! That is not what I would want to hear! Long extended test drive may be your best solution on whether to purchase or not.

I've taken quite a few long road trips in the 14-way seat and never found it uncomfortable. For example, eight times I've driven 850 miles in a single day between VA and FL, occasionally using the massage feature. Speaking of massage, that option is only available with the 14-way seats.

Love the 14s in my Taycan. Had the 18s in my Macan and liked those a lot too but the 14s are more forgiving. I actually find my Taycan to be one of the most comfortable seats I’ve had in a car…and I have had a LOT of cars. ;)

Selecting which seat to spec is a lot like buying a new pair of ski boots. You must spend some real time in them to see where and if hot spots develop. I spent the time when I acquired my first 911 and went with the 14 way, as they fit my body better than the 18 way. Only by spending quite a bit of time in the showroom on multiple visits was I able to get it right. It was time time well spent.

I have made two big mistakes with cars that I have to rid myself of because I didn't follow this advice. The seats in those cars were unbearable on longer trips.

There is a huge dfifference in the feel of the 14s vs the 18s. The diff between the 8s and the 14s is less about the seat itself than it is about the ability to get it into the right position for you with fewer adjustments. Personally, I like the adjustable thigh bolsters that do not come as part of the 8s.
