FYI I hear in a pcarwhisperer video that in the 2022 models that plug and charge will work with the 19.2kw onboard chargers.
that's really nice for them, it does nothing for me!
I am stuck with a function that inhibits my charging

Ten weeks, 2300 miles, one road trip (900 miles round trip), dozens of fast-charging sessions (tried the 6.6kW home charging just to verify that it works, but I really prefer to use the fast charger), nothing but pure delight with the Taycan and EA. Plug and Charge flawless since day one.

My only gripe is that I am still obliged occasionally to spend time away from my Turbo, tending to responsibilities in the non-Taycan portion of the Universe.

After 14 months and 12,000 miles I still love my 2020 Turbo. I've had no serious problems while driving. Like others, I've experienced some occasional software glitches and it took two weeks and a new PCM to get the WMA5 update installed, but the car has been nothing but a pleasure to drive.

The OP is in the UK so I don't think he cares about the EA or the 19kw onboard-charger. However, you can see that new features (i.e. 19kw option in the US nullifies plug&charge) and future software updates (i.e. WMA5) can introduce bugs.

If you are too concerned about bugs try to avoid new features and don't be the first to receive the software updates.

I do have Charging NA but I haven't had to use it since I found the (buried) checkbox to turn on Plug and Charge.

The Charging NA app seems confused about my vehicles, but the charging history is correct (including charges done with P&C) .
Hm ok, it's the same for me with My Vehicles being empty but the charging history being correct. You're talking about the buried checkbox in the PCM right? Under something like Charging > ... > Plug and Charge (not in my car currently so can't confirm).

My only Taycan issues were identical as my 2020 992. Build quality. Both cars had interior buzzing/rattles that were due to low/lesser quality assembly and lack of a QA process.

Both started in the same region of car, drivers side door panel and B pillar assembly. Both times I got the same response (which seems to be common from the service department for our VWs too) that they cannot replicate the noise.

I had the 992 addressed and then it migrated to passenger side c-pillar area, fixed that one myself.

Awaiting appointment for the Taycan, however I may just nut up and deal with it myself.

There is no real rocket science needed for a repair, just some soundproofing materials to be placed in the area of the clips and/or wiring harnesses that are making the noises.

I’ve had zero issues (over an admittedly short period of time - 2 and a half weeks and around 900 miles).

I’m not overly concerned.
I too have had my car 2.5 weeks and around 900 miles with no problems.

** One note: On pickup day, my salesman told me not to bother with the Porsche Connect app. It's simply too buggy. I'd recommend you do the same and avoid this app if possible. I personally haven't felt as though I'm missing anything of value by not having it.

I swear I'm going to blow through my annual mileage allowance within the first few months. It's literally that fun to drive.
I had a 12k annual allowance on my Model S and ended up way under budget due to COVID. I opted for 10k this time around, but I'm kinda concerned I made a mistake and should have done 12k again...

Since I'm only a couple weeks into ownership, I wonder if my dealership would let me change to 12k?

I only leased a Porsche once. Never again for that exact reason; I loved driving it too much and mileage limits quickly went poof.

ProTip: At the end of your lease, give Carmax a try - I was able to exit my lease pretty favorably by doing so even though I was way over budget on miles.

...my Porsche dealership is an hour away and was hoping for some bullet proof German engineering …

Should I be concerned?
No, you should consider yourself lucky. My PC is only 5 min away. Way too little opportunity to really drive my Taycan. After almost a year I still look forward to every drive.

4+ months and ~4000miles
I've experienced the usual (with intermittent CarPlay, sudden warnings, nav resetting, etc) s/w glitches-nothing that takes the fun of driving away.
I've had 2 "mechanical issues:
  1. The door trim of the passenger door came off. Seemed like it was stuck to the panel and it came off. Dealer said it was "user induced" but when I showed photo of door opening and trim popping from top (hard to hit top of window with leg), they agreed to fix it as a complimentary service
  2. Rear window crack (a few people have this). This seems to be a stress crack from the middle with no impact. This is also under warranty and am waiting for window to arrive from Germany.

Despite of these s/w and mechanical issues, if I were to evaluate my decision again, I would still go for Taycan.

The key "mantra" is: Just do a few launch controls every time you feel frustrated about the s/w. It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

I just hit the next corner a bit harder, and life is good again!:)
