Hi all, I’m hoping you can help me as I’ve read a bunch of posts and cannot figure out why this is not working.

I have a profile named home that has a minimum charge of 50% and a preferred time charge of midnight to 6:30AM.

I also have a timer on that has a date of departure set to daily at 6:30AM and a target charge of 85%.

When I have these two turned on, the car always charges to 100% and seems to ignore the timer, I would like it to stop charging at 85%. What am I doing wrong?

it doesn’t sound like you have anything wrong. I assume direct charging is off?

The time is in fact active (not just made)?

How many times has you tried this with the same results?

Does it reach 100% during the preferred charge window?

Can you post pictures of you settings?

I recreated the profile And timer to see if I hit some kind of bug. I guess we will find out tomorrow.

I just made the same setting, expect I use 8:30 instead of 6:30 for both (it’s already 6:55 here).

The car was at 75% to start and it went into “pause” when I plugged it in.

I’ll monitor, but I expect it to start charging in a little bit and reach 85% by 8:30.

Separately, FWIW, I don’t think the preferred charge times on the profile do anything if you have a timer with a departure time at the same time as the preferred charge time end time. The timer is going to control when the car charges and what it charges to.

It will start before your preferred times if it needs to….making the preferred charge time ignored and unnecessary.

OTOH, if it starts within the preferred charge time, then it was going to do that anyway and the preferred charge time is again unnecessary.

You may want to change it to optimized charging. Then, the only thing the profile should do is charge to 50% immediately on plugging in and then nothing else.

Looks like a 12HR / 24 HR clock issue. The time you have set is 12:15 in the afternoon to 06:30 the next day.

I don’t think @W1NGE suggestion is the problem because the timer should still prevent that. It should be paused during the longer preferred time, just as my car is right now.

FYI, the car stayed paused until about an hour before the departure time and then started charging, as expected.

Update: charging complete at 8:29, while I asked for 8:30. I better call to complain.

What EVSE are you using?
The one supplied with the car, or a third party one?

I have tried both so far. The 3rd party is a juice box, but it is just always on, no profile on it

This might not be helpful, but thought I would share. I have experienced 3 anomalies in the last 7 months where a profile (without timer set) charged to 100% instead of 85%. There was no change to the profile either by me or noted on the app or PCM. In my case, it occurred with both a third party EVSE and the one that came with the car. I could never locate the problem and just believe it is a software glitch somewhere that raises its ugly head.
Same here. No changes to my profiles, mine is just a simple 85%, and twice I’ve come back to the car on AC charging to find it charged to 100%. I’m not too stressed about it personally, although it definitely seems to be an issue.

I’m not overly worried, I just thought maybe I missed something on how it worked.

Had happened randomly a few times. No clear reason why. Seems to be a software glitch.
