Why is that such an issue and why is it being sold across Europe if not further sfield?Still isn’t PEN protected
Earthing (Protective Earth Neutral) and not a mandorty feature in UK for EVSEs.What is PEN protection?
The EVSE supplied with the car, mine at least anyway has a regular 13A UK pug on the end (and the option to put a blue commando plug in its place). To my mind that's a typical "granny" charger - and therefore as granny chargers go it's a portable unit, for ad hoc use - hence doesn't in itself need built-in PEN protection.Still isn’t PEN protected
I'm confused. I just use the Porsche charger that came with the car. For the USA, it has a 220 V and 110 V plug that can be swapped. I had a 50 amp circuit installed with a 220 V plug. The unit mounts on the wall with a long charging cord, and I set the charging sequence in the app or the car. I guess I don't understand the reason to buy a separate unit?
