I'm very happy with the one that came with the car. Porsche is upgrading it free of charge as I write this.

You need a 32amp commando/industrial socket for 7kW charging. 16amp will only give you 3.8kW speeds.

However, I have the Myenergi Zappi 7.6kW charger. It’s been faultless and has great cable management. I tend to use the Taycan’s timers and profiles rather than have Octopus Intelligent control the charge.

I'm confused. I just use the Porsche charger that came with the car. For the USA, it has a 220 V and 110 V plug that can be swapped. I had a 50 amp circuit installed with a 220 V plug. The unit mounts on the wall with a long charging cord, and I set the charging sequence in the app or the car. I guess I don't understand the reason to buy a separate unit?
check your mail or talk to your dealer. I am down the street from you. its been known for some time that Porsche's charging solutions are defective. I got the service notice yesterday that they are now capitulating and replacing them.

Just be aware that the charger that comes with the Taycan is rubbish. It has no PEN protection !

Just be aware that it is not a charger!

The EVSE supplied (same across the VAG group) is most definitely not rubbish IMHO.

Tesla Wall Connector - 3 phase - great standalone charger and excellent integration with my solar and Tesla Powerwalls.

Yeah man. Mine still going strong after 7 years and a couple of EVs. Plays nice with the Taycan and still looks ok on the wall.

I don’t understand why you’d pay so much for a car then use a charger that doesn’t protect it under fault conditions. Porsche recalled the earlier ones as they were deemed unsafe, the ones provided later on still aren’t PEN protected.

I've had my PMCC since new - Nov 2020. It has been an excellent piece of kit and has never had an issue or been the subject of a recall. I wish I could say the same for my first Taycan.

I decided to keep it for my current Taycan.

At the time I was lucky and due to supply issues my original Taycan was shipped with the PMCC rather than the PMC+ and therefore was free.

The noise around recalls turned out to be just that and my EVSE did not feature or require a check.

What is critical here is that the installation by a competent electrician must be done to code and includes all necessary requirements for earthing.

I’m having an electrician install an outdoor commando socket so I can use the mobile charger
