Ceramic Coating

I had it on from delivery. It really makes the car shine and easy to keep clean. It is not as long-lasting as a PPF that has ceramic coating, but it is far superior to the normal wash and wax. So if you are comparing wash and wax to ceramic coating, I would say it is worth it. If you haven't ruled out PPF, I would say go that route!

PPF is required, no question.

Ceramic coating is good to have for many reasons.
Ceramic coating is not only a sacrificial layer of clear coat, but also protects the paint in lieu of wax so you don't have to worry about waxing your car every 6 months.

The one drawback that some might find, is the look of CC. It has an artificial look to it compared to the warmer wax look.
I personally love the extra glossy look, but not all do.

Don't have the dealer do anything for your car. Better to Find a specialist
The best thing to do is flatbed your brand new car from the dealer to a shop to do the paint correction, PPF and CC at once.
Porsche has flawed paint from the factory. (Light scratches)

I've gotten rock chips on the way to get PPF so I've learned my lesson.

I have had ceramic coating on my last 6 cars/trucks (since 2013) and it has made every one of them much easier to keep looking great....

Good idea—without a doubt.

It will keep your car looking like new. Also, the fact that you don't have to worry about applying a new layer of wax every 3-6 months makes it a no-brainer IMO.

100% correct! A must on ANY vehicle you care about. Here's my full body PPF and ceramic coating. The car stays clean so much longer reducing frequency of washes.

Anyone who doubts that ceramic coating makes a huge difference to keep the car clean, here is a picture of my Taycan I took earlier today. I drove the car up from my house in Georgia to Connecticut in October. It has been parked outside for the last 3 months. I have not washed it once in that time. I even drove it during the snow storm we had over the weekend. (fyi, I normally take great pride in washing my cars on a regular basis - back home in Georgia, I always hand wash my car with a foam cannon, filtered water, etc. - no commercial car washes to avoid swirl marks).

As far as the ceramic coating I passed on the $1200 professionally applied coating that I had on my Aston. For the Taycan, I applied it myself over 1 year ago. I used a bottle of Armor Shield IX that cost about $60.

I have a white Taycan arriving soon and although I have already booked it in for a ceramic coat, I was unsure as to whether it made much of a difference to white. Looking at your car though, it looks like it does....it looks stunning and really seems to shine!

I had it done on my 4S - worth it - Gtechniq Platinum via the dealer -around £600 - inside and out (ceramic).
What colour is your car? Have you found it stays cleaner for longer and is easier to maintain and wash?

My delivery was put back to March 1st. I have it booked in with Pyramid Detailing for their 5 year coating.
Same day as mine. I hope! Thanks
