Hi, I have a 2022 Porsche Taycan sport turismo. I am having problems with charging using the profiles and Timer on the car. Our home is supplied by Octopus energy and I use optimised charging using the schedules created by Octopus.
I have set up a charging profile under the label home and a minimum charge of 25% and selected optimised charging. I also select the timer with a maximum charge of 80% and the charging to finish the following day at 9.00AM.
When I plug the cable in after initialisation charging goes to Charge pause. When the Octopus schedule is created and the charging starts it immediately comes up with a message that charging is completed. I am not sure why this happens. If I change the minimum charge to 80% in the profile, charging continues which does not seem right.
Can somebody who uses Octopus energy and optimised charging explain how the profiles and timer is set up.

thanks.

OK, 2 questions:
1) which EVSE (wallbox) do you have?
2) is your Octopus integration with the car or the EVSE?

Personally I let the EVSE (Zappi multiphase) do all the IOG scheduling with Octopus and it works very well.

The app does issue a small complaint if after a few minutes the charge doesn’t start immediately, but that can be ignored.

Yep, me too. I tried letting Octopus control the car but it's too unreliable. I have Zappi controlled by Octopus, with a single profile (% set to my maximum and optimised charging on) and no timer - works a treat every time.

My car is connected to Octopus via their app, so long as charging profiles and timers in the Porsche app are off/disabled, using the Octopus app to set times and soc targets works fine.

Would prefer to have an IO compatible wallbox and be car agnostic, first world problem though.

Good it's working for you.

In my experience integration with the Taycan wasn't reliable - sometimes the car didn't charge, others it would charge past the set %. I put this down to dodgy communications through the Porsche servers and mobile network - not an issue using EVSE integration and comms through the home internet.

Indeed @tophamn, app <-> server <-> car over mobile network inherently more prone
Agreed. The network connection over to my EVSE is far more stable (WiFi) than the ropey mobile data connection to the car in the same place.

My garage is too far away for my WiFi so bought a cheap modem and a cheap £2.50 per month SIM card. I just connect my Hypervolt to that and set the timer in their app to charge 11.30pm to 5.30am everyday and just plug it in when I need to.
