Completion date at factory 12th November - when can I pick it up?

Probably some truth in that statement a few years from now... Just really hoping it get to the dealer as not sure whether this lockdown will stop car transporter drivers or not..

"Logistics" is a protected industry so hopefully they can still work, I figure this one will be more manageable than the complete ambiguity of last time.

I have a 4S which should lave the factory on 18/11/20. Am I right in saying that the car simply needs to be in the country before 1st Jan to avoid any tariffs? Also, I have not signed anything saying that I will pay the 10%. Does anyone know what the situation would be if the car arrived after 1st Jan as I was told at order that the car will definitely be here before 1st Jan.

My dealer told me that as long as the car lands in the UK before January 1st we should be fine. My original completion date was Nov 27th and has already been moved once to Dec 4th. Now sweating about Brexit myself

Just for good order, the 10% "brexit" premium after 1st Jan only applies if the UK and the EU haven't reached a trade deal, in which case WTO tariffs apply (10% on cars, 22% on vans and trucks )

Both sides are motivated to make a deal, I'd be mildly optimistic it gets sorted, and cars go back to zero tariff.

Just spoke to my OPC. He says there is no update on the car as yet. He said their system is a bit glitchy at updating and it hasnt confirmed mine as entered at Grimsby yet despite it docking on 31st October. He did say that sometimes they get a notification that it is on the way to the dealership before it says it is at dock so Im not too worried. Apparentley its just a waiting game and he will let me know as soon as there is an update. Thats not good enough for me

, I need to know exactly where it is and when I get to collect it, does he not understand the situation we are all in eagerly awaiting collection

I have a 4S on order and having spoken to my dealership yesterday he has advised that my car is scheduled to be built tomorrow - I've seen loads of conversations and screenshots of where people have tracked their cars, but cant find a link how to do this. Any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.

If you speak to your dealer they will send you a screen shot of their system which reflects your car

No unfortunately there is no way of tracking it yourself. It has been discussed on here a few times and it would no doubt add another level of excitement to the whole experience. Hopefully they will come up with something in the future. I know you can track the 911 being built if you order in America

yeah saw that and that's what made me think it was the same for the Taycan in the UK - oh well I guess i'll have to continue annoying my wife and kids everyday about counting down the days until collection - thanks for your replies

Checked with my dealer delay and my build is still scheduled to complete in the 12th November. Confirmed all picks ups will be fine regardless of lockdown, so hoping for late nov/ early December pick up! Need to get my home chargers sorted and the merc c63 up for sale ( although I guess technically no one should be buying cars for the next 4 weeks! Doh!)
