SFL CONDUCTOR -Nov 27 03:00 USCT

Annoyingly still at anchor at head of estuary - odd? It is the only ship at anchor here and the auto terminal still appears to be unoccupied - could it be Coast Gaurd/Customs related I wonder? Or that the terminal may not be ready for them albeit empty?

SFL Conductor - still behaving odd - underway at 2.5 knots but now to north of estuary - bizarre!

Dock can be empty, but if ground crew is not there, the ship can't dock. Could also be an issue with tug or pilot availablity. Hopefully it's allowed to dock in the morning.
The odd thing I guess for me is that we have been well inside the dock window/ETA for some time and I’d expect any prep/crew to be at hand by now but who knows!
It’s literally going in circles right now :)!

Some weeks ago, the Siem Cicero sailed in crisscross pattern for days in North Sea about 60 miles away from Emden until it finally moored and picked up cars. I believe it had arrived early and had to wait until other ships were loaded first.

Indeed would all make sense other than the Auto Port docks are all completely empty and we're essentially past the ETA, maybe an hour shy for the Conductor - feels like an other issue involved but at this point no idea what.

OF course I am assuming that is where its headed i.e. the main Autoport immed to east of McNabb Island.

PWL schedule says Nov 29, so maybe the ship stays "on-schedule", not ahead of schedule.

Whoa - had not paid attention to that recently - I had being working on the 27th as the ETA - that could indeed explain it but seems daft to me that the autopost would not reschedule given no other car carriers in town and the high sea state at the minute - wishful thinking I guess.

Good reminder @Tooney:
Will be a rough wait as they are in 37 knot winds right now :)! Looks like the container ship MSC Leigh might be in a similar situation having just come off anchor and waiting.

Also as @tbinmd suggested there may be ongoing scheduling issues with stevedores and other ground crew too I guess.

Another possibility: Ship and harbor crew are taking schedule directions from Track Your Dream.... :crying:

Ok, this is really odd, on the Halifax port centre site, there have schedules. Here's the Ro-Ro car carriers. Only the Conductor is still not assigned to the autoport.

Indeed - actually shared this on an earlier post (788) and part of my perhaps unwarranted frustration :) - just seems like with everything ongoing with supply chains Ports would have greater flexibility on arrivals etc but also realize the Stevedore companies are specialized crews that have their own schedules - my post comparing Houston was a bit cheeky but obviously just pointing out the complete lack of activity in the Halifax Autoport!
