The factory restarted “limited” production last week.
I know, but I ordered, 16th August, got lock in date of 3rd March, just before the shutdown, and my delivery date has gone back until end of May. If accurate that would give me a 9 month wait, but from your order on 1st Feb you are also being told end of May, less than 4 months wait. Someone at Porsche is messing up either the way allocations are handed out or I am getting fed some stories from my dealership I feel

I think it is all down to new model allocations, when I ordered the dealer had two 4S ST allocated and showed me the order screen, I had the second one and it had build completion of 31st March, this has now slipped a month.

Yeah I guess so, just amazes me they can have people waiting for months on end and not adjust factory capacity to give all Taycan's "similar" build times. For example if there is a 10 month, backlog of the 4S, but The 4S ST has only 1 month wait, increase the 4S production to clear backlog. They are almost exact same price, so not like they need to put a £150k Turbo S on hold to build them.

Easy to have this idea when it's my model that's got the delay I guess, others wouldn't want theirs delayed just because someone has chosen a model with a bigger backlog

Anyway, back to staring at the desktop background dreaming of the day it arrives...

It does indeed seem crazy. I'm at 7 months for a Turbo With no one in front of me. Maybe dealer gets rubbish allocations.

The disparity in wait times even within the same dealer for different models is a fact, but what kind of a business model do Porsche follow which results in some models having massive order books at the factory with waits of up to a year and others just a few months?
That wouldn't make business sense, why wouldn't you tailor model production lines to demand??

Porsche have always been very good at keeping the the more expensive models in a lineup sought after by keeping supply low and keep used values up.

So build complete estimate hasn't changed, however, I now have a VIN number. That has to suggest that something is happening?!
I hope you don’t mind my asking, when did you place your order? Also when did you get the notification of scheduled for production?

Of course.

Ordered mid September with one ahead in the queue who dropped out. Locked mid Feb
With a mid March estimated completion date. That has been pushed to mid April so far. Update so far has been update to order with a VIN number but will wait to see in next 10 days whether the build completes or if it just gets pushed another month.

I got the call last night, she has been built and is awaiting shipping! Should be collected in 2-3 weeks. I will believe it when I see it though!
Look forward to seeing the pics of your collection from the dealer! You happiness will go a little way towards alleviating my sadness!
I ordered early September and got an email from my dealer last week saying to expect a long delay still, due to Ukraine issues etc.
I'm not the worst on this forum in terms of wait time either!
Obviously your car is not affected by Ukraine :p

It was pushed a month... But ordered a Turbo in September with no orders in front... So I've done my time!

Weird!!
And on this forum some people have already got their cars having 'only' waited 6 months or less.
