Frozenberry & cherry are weird colors. Most of the "red" cars in this study would be something like Carmine Red. I bet Mamba Green ends up being the best resale value Taycan color.
I have been able to see every color of Taycan in person now and I have to say that they all look anywhere between really good and great. The key is how they are set up in terms of overall spec.

Nope! It's not on the PTS color list - I was going to do it.
Porsche explicitly excluded Guards Red from PTS Plus??? What if you called it "My sweetheart red" but sent them a sample of Guards Red?

BOOO! I thought the whole idea of PTS is that you can send them a sample of any color you want. The list is just common previous choices. Maybe call PCNA & ask if it's specifically blacklisted or something?

That is/was PTS+ and is double the price of PTS, which is a really just a longer list of colours than standard.
Not available on all models and apparently not currently the Taycan model I looked at.

Hi all,

For some context, I am upgrading from a Toyota Prius lol. So any Porsche will be a huge upgrade for me. With that in mind, I want a "bare bones" Porsche Taycan with only the most essential items.

Me: I will not take long trips in the car, and again I'm coming from a Prius, so the cornering/suspension of the base Taycan will probably be plenty for me. But if you think air suspension is a "must", I'm open to hearing why.

http://www.porschecode.com/PPEF8D60

What should I add? What should I remove? Thank you in advance!

Here are my options below:

Rear 2+1 Seats
Power Folding Exterior Mirrors
Model Designation on Rear in Satin Black
Air Suspension incl. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
Fixed Panoramic Roof in Glass
Surround View
Lane Change Assist (LCA)
Ambient Lighting
Porsche Crest on Headrests (Front)
On-Board 150 kW/400V DC Charger (with reports of Elon opening up superchargers I figure its cheap future proof insurance)
A little late to the party, but.....

My CT4 order is for my second new Porsche and my first EV (my wife has a Tesla). The first new Porsche was my first new car ever, a 2014 Cayman S that I custom ordered. My philosophy for ordering that car was similar to yours, although our priorities may be a bit different: I wanted a Cayman without all of the unnecessary options--as bare bones as possible--but also as sporty as possible, within reason.

So, my Cayman build included sport suspension and the few creature-comforts I thought necessary: Bose because music!; 18-way seats because the seat and steering wheel are what you touch and I'm a tactile person (I later upgraded the steering wheel to a GT4 variety, which was never an option from the factory). Anything I suspected I wanted but could be added later was left off (I'm a car tinkerer, so I knew I would adding things, like paiting the wheels black, black lettering, etc.). What I didn't get was full leather, Porsche crests, etc. I wanted them but I wanted to save as much money as possible. What I did do was color. The car was Racing Yellow (hence the special order) with yellow interior trim and seat belts.

When I sold the car years later, the color sold the car. No one cared it didn't have sports chrono or Porsche crests or full leather. The buying pool was possibly smaller because of the color, but the few in that pool had nowhere else to go (look at how many black, silver, grey, white, etc. Caymans there are for sale out there compared to yellow.....). So, if you're thinking about resale, you should consider an unusual color, even if polarizing. I know it's counter-intuitive but when you think about it, it makes sense.

Now that I have a few more dollars to spend than I did almost a decade ago and I'm at an age when I think I'll be keeping the car for a longer period, I'm speccing my CT4 a bit differently. It is a big car and I like small coupes or sports cars and handling is a top priority. So, I've (reluctantly) specced every handling upgrade know (1) I can't really add them later (2) this is a big and heavy car and it needs every bit of help it can get and (3) this is where Porsche shines and why I'm buying a CT4 and not a BMW i4. But I've added the full leather and deviated stitching because I can afford those now. And some of the tech goodies, like LCA and night vision (I live in deer country and have already hit one, totaling my son's X3). It adds up quickly and my $97k base-priced car is suddenly a $130k+ car. But I'm older, I can afford it, and, having wrestled with the configurator for hours, it is the build with everything I reasonably think I want and everything I don't left off. Oh, and it's Mamba Green. A $800 option that, when it comes time to sell, will set it apart from every other Taycan out there....

Things I would do differently on your build, knowing I'm not you and may have different tastes: I would ditch the crests and pano roof. The crests wear I've been told, are never seen while driving the car and cost precious money. The pano roof adds weight at the top of the car (exactly where you don't want weight) and, unlike a sunroof, can't be closed. I would take that money and add rear wheel steering to make the car feel a little smaller and more maneuverable in sometimes tight Bay Area (where I live too). Test the various seats and see if base works for you or you want to spend money there. And make it an unusual color if you're at all inclined....

Most of all, enjoy it!! Good luck.

Rear wheel steering: my first option that i will always choose again.
And air suspension (lift mode, saved locations).
I also love pdcc and matrix lights…i don’t worry anymore if i have to drive during the nigh.
Speaking of night: night vision. Another option that i love & use a lot.
Olea leather. Love it.

pano roof: nice to have, but i found out that lines of the car are (much) better with steel roof.
Next one will have steel roof even if i like bright interior.

i miss ambient light. Not because of interior (i skip it intentionaly), but i didn’t know that part of it are lights under the door. I miss that.

i’d skip off-road package for 2K if i’d found this forum before my locked day.
And porche mobile charger as well. Juice booster provides much more “bangs for the bucks”…

that’s in short from me, having CT4 with almost 50k options:blush:

I just wanted to update this thread. My Taycan adventure started with a plan to buy a brand new RWD taycan with only the bare essentials. I came to the realization that more often than not, this results in a very boring experience and on the other end of the ownership cycle it may be quite difficult to sell a car that doesn't have any basic features. I decided to take my budget, apply it to a certified preowned Taycan, and instead of the base I was able to get the 4s. THIS CAR IS INSANE! No idea what I would do with a Turbo, I am incredibly satisfied with the car I got. Here are some pics! And the build sheet.
