Functions on Demand (FoD) phased out?

I’m working with a Porsche dealer right now, purchasing a Taycan. I want ALK, and this car has ACC, so I was hoping for them to thrown ALK on the car prior to purchase as part of the negotiation. I originally made this request a few days ago and the salesman is now saying:

“Bad news!! Functions on demand has been phased out FOR NOW!! Derrick at Porsche believes they will bring it back! I know it’s not what you want to hear.”

I have no idea who Derrick is lol.

Can anyone confirm that FoD has been phased out?

Yes discontinued. I think before it is faced out we will get a letter or e-mail and probably some good discounts for activating the missing features. When I was speccing the Macan, it was already a fact there will no FoD for Macan.

I’m glad it is discontinued, it was not Porsche like in the first place.

I installed Active Lane Keep, Innodrive, and Porsche Intelligent Range Manager using FoD 2 weeks ago.

I can order the same services as always in the connect store. Used it last time a month ago. I used it last time a month ago.

Does this mean cars with ACC but no current active functions on demand will no longer be able to purchase it? It's been working out fine for me paying only $24 for the month I need instead of whatever the current lifetime price is now at ~$1k

Just went online to the desktop MyPorsche app. All FOD's seem to be active and able to be ordered as of today.

Just spoke with Porsche North America and Functions on Demand is currently unavailable for MY25 Taycans. They do not know if it will ever be made available.

The rep I spoke with said that perhaps they are taking a year off to overhaul it, but he did not sound hopeful. No reason given.

This is extremely frustrating since Porsche is able to provide this service to earlier cars. What could possibly be the reason for discontinuing it?

I guess, but it seems like the profit potential is huge. The software has already been designed…they are already doing it for 1st gen cars…and for those who are paying monthly it is a recurring revenue stream. They could even require a six-month, year commitment.

If they are replacing it with something else, then it should be communicated. My two cents.

FYI. I recently bought a 2023 Taycan (turbo CT) and it took 3 weeks before the FOD options became available in the connect store this morning.

FOD seems still available at MyPorsche web site. But all options now seems to be life time validity only, with no possibility to subscripe at monthly basis.

Anyone else seeing the same?

Yes. A few Reddit posts about that too. I think you still car request a refund up to 14 days after purchase if not satisfied based on the terms and conditions document.

My account still shows I can add Innodrive via FOD but only the lifetime sub. Monthly is gone.
