Same for me.

Deposit start of December 2021.

Originally due Easter, then June, then Q4, now some time next year.

Farcical.

We'll see in Nov/Dec when the next allocations are expected to be given.

I'm half expecting (half hoping) June/July (order placed beginning of Feb this year), but also wouldn't be especially surprised if it ended up not being next year at all - there's big potential for German industry to be heavily impacted on the energy front in the next 6mths, and I doubt building Taycans will be that close to the top of the priority list in extremis.

It will also be interesting to see what the economy does over the next 12mths and how that impacts the wait lists.

If it does go into the year after, the family bus will likely start to become more of a priority, and Volvo are expected to release their next XC90 next year.

Went to the dealership a few weeks ago and was promised end of q1 for a 4s cross (6~months) , went in again to discuss upgrading to a turbo s and was told that basically everything was minimum 13 months and to not bother asking about the GTS because, "you'll never get one allocated to you".

Only exception was apparently the sport tourismo which is supposed to be a 8 month. Cross and saloon are 12-13 months across the board.

It's very frustrating all the different information coming from different dealers in different parts of the country. My own dealership suggested that one could indeed get a GTS salon quicker than a 4S as they were tending to prioritise them??? They also said that they had 40 cars arriving in November (no Taycan delivered since July) and that everything will be back to normal by then!!! LOL

Back to normal..........................hmm. Porsche UK have a somewhat different view on this hence my previous comments.

They are all just giving different flavours of bullshit/flannel.

I think my dealer's being as honest as it gets by noting they simply do not know, and when they get their next set of allocations in, they'll let me know where that leaves me.

I've taken the view that it's simply not worth calling them until at least Oct/Nov (or when I hear you lot getting the nod :)). End of the day, the despoit's fully refundable at present and money's earning nowt in the bank...

The PC Aberdeen now has a person assigned to contact customers on progress of orders, allocations etc. on a frequency of your choosing. I've been contacted twice now (and met the person in-person) essentially to be told 'no update' but at least there's been an effort to improve communication.

That's good proactive service - Wish it was replicated elsewhere!

But I must admit, my OPC replies same day, if I have a question.

Mine also has a new person to help on that... Nice as she is, I don't really see the point. The bottlenecks/issues don't seem to be with the dealer... It's with Porsche's inability to get any sort of surety on when they're going to be able to allocate cars.

The whole system seems a little shonky to me. I would have expected something like

Customer gives deposit > dealer submits order > Porsche confirms the order and notes the order is xx out of yy, ideally giving as good an eta as feasible > dealer gets updates as xx ticks down as orders are fulfilled or cancelled

(The yy bit could be geared per country, model or whatever if they must).

What seems to happen is

Customer gives deposit > dealer submits order? Or puts it in a spreadsheet awaiting allocations > Porsche gives the dealer allocations when it can be arsed/twice a year whichever comes sooner > Dealer matches orders to the allocations they are blessed with (perhaps tweaking who gets what depending on who needs to be kept sweet) > Customers post varying experiences on the Internet with varying degrees of mirth > some customers get a car... Hopefully before we cark it or are only fit to drive Nissan Micra mk1s.

I have absolute empathy on the supply issues they are having, and at the end of the day fully accept these are 1st World problems (hence my mirth laden posts on the topic rather than anything approaching "upset"). It just strikes me that the system could be better organised and less opaque.

(I'd also expect a behemoth like Porsche to have learnt a lot of lessons on supply chain diversity, and for German industry to soon be learning about energy supply diversity and security*).

(* I am not suggesting the UK is a paragon on this BTW. It's a given that our politicians are a bunch of fuckwits. It's just nice to have further confirmation that other mighty nations are similarly inflicted).

In normal times the process (in my experience of many Porsches) is pretty slick and accurate.

Supply chain diversity is key (now) going forward and the days of JIT should be confined to history - even Toyota were stock piling Bluetooth chips (for example) and had amassed 2 years supply before the semi-conductor shortage hit so obviously what we see / read is never quite reality.

This is a welcomed improvement. That said, we have an order in for a Cupra Born and the Seat/Cupra dealer has done this from week 1 without needing to be asked specially!

Nothing here.

I only get an update when I chase them, and it always seems to be bad news so I'm trying not to chase them any more!

No news here, either.
Spoke to our SA last week, system still says end of Oct delivery.
I'm sceptical, but who knows, not in a rush.
