This is what is happening to some Teslas, there is a valve that can get frozen and breaks when activated. Tesla were apparently able to fix it with a software update.

I really think Tesla are streets ahead when tech is involved

You are the only person from UK who has said he filed a complaint. Might be more difficult for UK safety agency to give brush-off responses if more owners complain.

Add one to November. I was 4 weeks without heating in Southern Finland but learned to drive my Taycan still. Long underpants, beanie and warm gloves. Air condition at zero and when windscreen started to frost, turned Range mode on (with eco+) for a short while. Luckily we didn't have temperatures under -10C but I am lying if I would say I enjoyed it.
Got my car back today ?, it was at Porsche for a day and half. I am happy with how they handled this at Porsche Espoo. They had several Taycans waiting for Webasto replacements parked outside.

I actually thought the response was quite sensible - it’s a stretch to say the misting of the windshield is a safety issue. There’s no need to repeat the arguments presented previously in each of the dozen of threads on this topic - not that long ago this was just a fact of life of driving in the winter.

A govt org with ruling authority over safety practices of manufacturers would be laughed off (at best) if they attempted to make such a contrived argument; quite possibly they could be accused of overreach, or worse. i don’t agree it is not a stretch to say a misting up windscreen is a safety issue in our cold damp wet winters her in Europe with a few passengers in the car it is a safety issue. All cars suffer from failures from time to time however for what was high quality German product to fail as much as they are is simply not good enough.
I have had over 8 Porsches now but will never buy another and I am not the only one who is fed up with all the problems and time it takes to fix.

The point I was trying to make was that _in absence of regulation_ there's not much an authority can do - it means, in fact, that they have no authority to make that request/statement etc. Per @Tooney the US does have that regulation, whereas it appears the UK does not. Perhaps mine was a pedantic point, but there's a difference between asking for regulation (hey <agency>, add 'misting' to 'safety') and asking for intervention (hey <agency>, force P. to do something, this is unsafe).

Good luck, @Bertibasset and everyone else in this situation, hopefully it'll get solved quicker.

My 2020 4S has been in 4 times for failed heating. In total spending 6 months at the OPC. Personally I would take my money and run ?

All this talk about heater failures has me very anxious to take my 4sct on a long road trip to the mountains with my family in tow.

I just got myself to accept that I'm going to remove it from the garage during the winter months and expose it to salt. ??️??

Yes mine is a MY23 and having spoken to dealer (Chester) on Friday, I have no idea when I might have the car ready to collect. Not good given it was registered on 2.12.22 when they realised hearing issue.

I’m hearing most UK dealers have 2-4 Taycans waiting for heating repairs. This is causing a delay in parts arriving.
