After filling out the "how did we do" survey following the 2 year service (most expensive brake fluid change I have ever had!), the After Sales Manager from Porsche Centre Exeter was on the phone to me within the hour, most apologetic. He said they had 2 heaters on back order but still no sign of when they will arrive.
Boy oh boy
Turn around for the heat failure was 2 days here in Canada….
2 years service was free, even with the brake bleed…..
Different countries, different politics….

Broken heater eliminates windshield defrosting and defogging.
Serious safety defect.
Report it in UK per post #13 above.

(So far in US only 3 safety complaints to NHTSA).

Have any U.K. people managed to get their heater fixed yet or even a rough lead time? Fired off some letters to Porsche today. Worked out in the 8 months I’ve had my Taycan it’s spent 35% of the time at the dealer due to this problem and being on my 3rd panoramic glass roof! Love the car but really not sure what to do. Would a replacement be any better or do I get my money back and buy something else?
I got mine fixed recently. It was a brand new car so it went immediately back to the dealership.
I was told the coolant pump had seized so it was repaired on site and then got the car back within a couple days.
It’s nice and toasty at the moment.

Want to echo Tooney’s comments here. The only way this will get systematically addressed is if enough people affected file formal complaints. This is looking recall-worthy, but so far it seems there’s no formal acknowledgment of the problem from Porsche. Filing a report to NHTSA takes less than 5 minutes.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem

You can use the following template for the complaint:

No windshield defrosting and defogging in my <year> Taycan <model> (with <miles> miles on it). Impaired visibility. No heat in passenger compartment. Dealer found electric heater failed and needed replacement. The high- voltage electric in-line heater heats the coolant used for windshield defrosting and defogging, as well as passenger compartment heat. See attachment for system description. The Taycan electric heater is a critical vehicle component to ensure visibility and avoid crashes. In the last 2 years, over 70 Taycan owners (US, Canada, Europe) have reported Taycan electric heater failures in online forums. Three owners have had a second Taycan heater failure a year after the first heater was replaced. Taycan model years 2020, 2021 and 2022. See attachment for owner online posts with URLs.
Replace the <template> parts with details about your car.

Another heater failure on MY 21 .Porsche dealer in Dublin told me they have 12 TAYCANS
currently with the same issue. No idea when my car will be fixed best estimate mid January.
Crazy situation and PORSCHE HQ staying silent on this debacle.

Got to say without any doubt I have totally lost all confidence in the Porsche Taycan the amount of electrical problems and time off the road are a discrace.

So lost all heat contactacted dealer who advised to call Porsche assist and tell them car heating broke and cannot demist screen they will then recover car and sort hire car out. I did this process was ok apart when the recovery truck turned up he said not another he has collected several already this month for same issue. Then hire company trying to put me in a VW Polo which I rejected and got a 3 year old well used BMW 5 Series.
I am informed parts needed are on back order probably 4 to 6 weeks

we will see how quick it turns out to be one thing for sure I have had 7 Porsches over the years 2 Taycans and I will never buy another as reliability for such a premium brand is a joke.
Your post pretty much reflects my position exactly; my 2020 4S has been in 5 times this year for the heating problem that many are reporting. I had to drive the car 750 miles in -6C conditions and the interior glass froze, leaving me no option but to spray de-icer on a cloth and wipe it every 15 seconds, which was obviously very dangerous, but I had no option. In desperation, I even bought some candles and sat them on the dash to heat the screen - I kid you not.
Porsche said they had no courtesy car for a month and when I contacted Porsche assist they told me “thousands” had the same problem. The recovery driver said he’d just come from dropping another Taycan off with the same problem - 40 at that dealer alone.
18 days they had the car in November and still no further forward. It’s just not acceptable for a prestige brand like this, especially when the the courtesy car replacing my expensive Taycan is a Vauxhall Crossland, which has a perfect heating matrix.

Update from me. Surprisingly got call today saying my car is done and I get it back tomorrow. The new high voltage heater apparently has a new mechanism to stop it being overloaded and burning out. Seems like my escalations to GB and German leadership did the trick!

Thank you for the heater update. I'd also like to see the part number of the replacement heater.
What model year is your Taycan? Do you know roughly when/what month it was manufactured? We know that the heaters Porsche was using then had failures.

I scanned your prior posts. Wow! Your CT has been through the wringer. Not one but two glass roofs, and now the heater.

Here's hoping you get to enjoy your car problem-free.

It certainly has! I’ll try to get the part number. My car was manufactured March 2022.

I’m possibly unlucky 13 ?
About two months ago I had no air coming out of any outlet unless selecting recirculation. Booming noise inside the dashboard like all outlets were fluctuating. Car misting up. Porsche centre Dublin said to call Porsche Assist and get the car flat-bedded into them. I didn’t fancy that circus so soldiered on for a few weeks. Air started to flow again, but now randomly about once a week without warning the whole car will suddenly fog up. Selecting de-mister clears it within 20 seconds and all is normal until the next time.
Like Tigerbalm becoming familiar with the logistics of Porsche spares to Ireland I’m on first name terms with the service manager in Ireland’s only Porsche Centre following 2 x HUD failures, recalibration required to steering, the wonky spoiler/wing (which is worse than ever), updates, etc.
MY21 4S. 50,000km driven with no breakdowns, so not as bad as some members on the Forum. Still love the car… but the built by Dacia spoiler/wing really pi**es me off . Anticipating a HVH failure any day reading the above

My MY21 has stopped heating too. Took it over to the dealer this afternoon for them to take a look at it, and he tells me there is a valve assembly that has failed. My service advisor also told me I am the fifth person this week to speak to him alone.

Last year we had no problems. but I guess it could have failed at any time since then - we haven't needed the heat here until the last few weeks really.

It would be interesting to know how service diagnoses the problem as failed valve assembly instead of failed high-voltage electric heater.

He said the first one that came in took them some time to find, but now they go straight to that component and listen to whether the valve activates when they turn the heat on. He did say on some of the cars they had found error codes, but mine was not showing any.
