Hi, I just wondered wether you got a reply to this question...I too am interested in whether switching car on actually triggers 12v charging
Clearly putting the car in operational mode (i.e. switch it on) will begin to monitor all systems including that of the 12v battery and likely will always charge it as needed / on demand.

At one point we thought that simply using My Porsche App and triggering Pre-Conditioning (cabin) would perform the same task as the AC uses the HV battery which when 'on' will do the 12v piece as well - can't confirm if that's the case but logically it makes sense.

Yes switching on (Terminal 15 cycle) Taycan re-sets the 12 Volt charging system back to zero so it will then charge up to 8 half hour charging sessions. I have had this confirmed by Porsche.
The Taycan system works the same algorithm as the Etron (attached).
One of Porsche HV Technical experts confirmed “The Audi variant is identical to our Taycan’s.”

Interesting but this clearly isn't always an adequate backup in winter on quite a few cars, including mine.
Either our 12V batteries discharge so quickly 30 minutes isn't long enough to get them charged adequately or the batteries are faulty.
My 12V battery went into self protect mode after 9 days not being used over Christmas disabling the car.

Yes I had the same problem which I solved by using a Lithium charger but brought the issue up with Porsche who did not have a satisfactory answer although they did say that a lot of over the air checking had been carried out over December / January. They did a full test of my 12 Volt charging system and 12 Volt battery but could not find any problem so still not sure why I had the problem like you in cold weather.

I have the same problem, for more than 10 months now, but the error didnt dissapear. And Porsche say it can be erased.
I control the voltage in the dashboard, and it always been on 13.5v, done more than 20k km, and any problem with the battery. But the frustrating error remains always i start the car.
