I got this warning.....replaced battery in both fobs and the warning did not clear. When I start the car using either key fob with new batteries the error pops up when the car starts.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to clear the error?

Same thing happened here but only with the main key. Replaced batteries twice and getting same error.
Used spare key for a couple of days (no error message) and message went away with the main key also.
Dealership was not very useful when inquired

It will clear after a few days, keep the key in the cupholder while driving.

I typically keep the key in the cupholder and I've had this error for about 2-3 weeks recently. Any other solutions yet? it must be something with an over the air update bug, perhaps?

Can we assume you have replaced the battery with a new one?

You are placing in the first (furthest from the PCM) cupholder?

Do you get the same warning with either key fob?

No OTA update for this.

I haven't gotten around to replacing the battery yet. Somebody above posted that changed the battery two or 3 times and it didn't work. I'm about to take my car for service for the new model 23 updates and I'll have them figure it out. :)

I changed mine and it re-registered fine so it should 'just work'.

Yes, I changed my battery in both fobs. Both fobs give error. I will try cup holder solution. Do I leave in cup holder when the car is off or only while driving?

Only while you're driving. Getting the fob away from the car while shutting it down enables the car to reset.

Just for a few short minutes when powered on to enable re-registration to occur.

Hi. Can anyone help with getting the key apart to change the battery? I looked in GTK and it says to remove the emergency key then remove the sides of the key - but I am having trouble getting them off and don't want to break them. Is there an easy way to do this? Maybe it is not possible to break - if anyone can describe how to remove them then that would be great. Thanks.

There is a tiny tab at the tip on each side - push those tabs in and the sides will pop off relatively easily. Relatively.
