Very nice - on quick look don’t see pricing online for their ultimate kit. All-in with full kit and install can you share ballpark cost?
Scratch that :). See looking at $4 to 4.3k for kit plus install. Def up there!

it is a costly add on but I didn't want any clunky add ons, I didn't want the installation to be visible unlike the ones mounted on the windshield.
the "jammer" system is one of the only ones that work against a specific lidar unit that is heavily used in my region and if it helps me avoid a couple of citations it will pay for itself.

I used this thread to wire in my Uniden R7. It worked great! The only thing I will add is that to remove the first trim piece, I pried down just a little, then pushed it forward towards the front of the car. That is how it unclips. I edited the pick as follows:

Thanks again!

Thanks for the pics @mexicanpizza, you gave me confidence to finally do this today and I'm happy with the result.

Derek are you using the suction cups to hold the V1? Could not see the mount in your picture.

I typically install the mirror tap in my cars and use the suction cups for the V1/Gen2, but wondered if you used something else.

A few notes and photos from the install today to supplement the excellent info so far. Also used a MirrorTap MT-1015 for a Valentine One (gen 1) on the driver's side.

I used two credit cards to open the first panel. As DerekS mentioned, slide the trim remover tools (or credit cards) directly upwards along the two peripheral ends of the horizontal trim border (his red line in his post #21) and you will hear a click. Then push upwards and forward, and the large trim piece will unlock. Note that this will hang by a rubber cord which can be removed.

This photo shows the driver's side latch which gets disengaged if you push up with a credit card.

As for removing trim piece #2, absolutely agree with the O.P. to push in the two sides near the glass to remove the piece. Here is a picture of the two latches you are trying to disengage. The most annoying part after this is the red cord which then suspends this trim piece.

Final pic showing the 12V of the Mirror Tap going in. I used the very smallest tap provided. The next size up was a bit large. There's unfortunately very little room due to the mirror itself, so it's much easier to unclip the connector so you can easily rotate it and find the best angle to put in the 12V and Grd.

The only other tip is that I could not figure out how to thread the wire from the front headliner to where I was going to mount the V1 since it appears there is now a foam insert at that seam. I ended up just putting the wire out the side of trim panel #1 so it's pinching the wire a little.

Thanks for the tips. Exactly where I was planning on mounting mine (as it is where it has always been in all my cars). Looks great.

@mexicanpizza , @KTC, others. Did anyone check which fuse this connection uses and what it's used for typically (is it the mirrror, or a camera, alarm, something else, etc), what is the current rating on that fuse (A) and how much current is typically going through it (before the radar detector)?

Also, is there a unswitched 12V in that mirror which can be used for a 24/7 dashcam?

The red string is kicking my butt. Looks like it is around a post that a wire is thread thru a zip tie. Does that zip tie just snap in the post and you can pop it off? See where yellow tool tip is at. Do I pop that zip tie holder out?

Answered my own question. The cover you are removing has a section you slide the red cord under. Do not pry the part in my previous pic. Not necessary.
