I picked up my 2025 4S ST yesterday so I'll check shortly. It read my 2023 4S CT perfectly.

FWIW, here’s my understanding of the situation:

Reading generic OBD codes is a regulatory requirement. You will always be able to do that.

A few years ago, concerned with Porsche’s plans to go EV, the dealers confronted Porsche about the future of their service department revenue.

What this thing does is it prevents the owner from resetting the service intervals, reading higher level codes, and coding modules unless they have a specific dealer-level subscription and diagnostic equipment. Some 2024 models may have it as well. 2023-and earlier do not, as far as I am aware.

So, lets say the reminder comes up on the PCM telling you its time to do the basic Taycan service (change cabin air filter, brake fluid, rotate tires). You can certainly do those things yourself, but you wont be able to clear that message and mark the service completed in the PCM. You will have to take the car to the dealer. Similarly, let’s say down the road you need to replace some component of the vehicle. You might be able to buy one, but you wont be able to code it to get it to work with you car. Again, you will have to take it to the dealer.

Back in the day with our old Toyota ICE car, when we changed the oil, we could simply push the odometer reset in for 20 seconds to reset the oil reminder.

Not the demographic that Porsche is after

I think this will hurt them in the long run, especially with their more enthusiast-focused cars.

SFD2 protocols, it actually started sometime in 2024MY builds, well at least on it's sister platform mate, the e-tron GT.

Basically it needs to dial in to the homeland/mothership to make any changes, but I was under the impression that basic OBDII items could still be read, just not overwritten, specifically anything related to coding.

Has anyone tried to use eFlow to read the MY25 data.

Does that one work?

I've tried it but doesn't read battery energy or correct SOH. exactly the same as Car Scanner. It presents fault codes in a more user friendly format.

Have you tried to contact the eFlow developers. I have found them very responsive when I had some questions/issues.

Not yet but I will do. I contacted Car Scanner and they couldn't/wouldn't help on specific car issues. Vgate were very helpful suggested trying a different adapter and returning if it didn't help. I did that and no joy

Contacted eFlow and they responded very quickly saying they are "actively working on making their App work with facelift models" but cannot give a timeline to complete.
I then looked at the App more closely and when you select Porsche Taycan it does say (pre facelift models)

if PIWIS supports the same "fast" SoH reading on the facelift Taycan, I can sniff it and again provide the data to Carscanner Stanislav, but need to get access to both of course. :)
If someone can do that somewhere around the world please send me the sniffed data while calling that diag page. This can be done either by a Y-OBD cable or by activating the dev mode and logging in PIWIS (which is mostly a hacked china copy)

That would be great. I've been trying to provide data for Stanislav but the ECU senors 8c Hybrid Battery Management, 008c Battery Management System and 51 Electro Engine are not providing any data.
The eFlow App team are facing the same issue.
What does the Y-OBD connect to?

it sniffs the traffic between PIWIS and the car.
So laptop with PIWIS on one arm and something else connected to second arm?
