Has he ever done the hypermiling on the current Taycan? Why not take a regular Taycan on the same trip as the new? It would give this number some context, i.e. how does the new Taycan compare to the old one.

Kyle has been saying he's got a Taycan on order for 2-3 years now. Surely with the production finally moving in 2023 (as evidenced by the number of Taycans in dealer inventory today) he should have one of his own by now, no?
Kyle lives about 4 miles from me. The local dealership is a joke. I've tried to buy 2 cars from them and failed. Each time I went out of town for my cars and instantly got what I needed. I suspect he is trying for an allocation from that dealership which would explain the long wait.

Agreed. I use the regen button all the time, in place of pulling a gear in an ICE to start some gentle deceleration (without pressing the brake!), I’m toggling it on and off frequently.
I like the paddle-controlled regen our Audi e-tron has. It would be nice if the Taycan had this, since for some reason Porsche has so few buttons on the steering wheel spokes.

He has mentioned that he canceled his Taycan order so currently not in the cards for him.

I agree a similar test with the current Taycan would be very useful.

If charging infrastructure don't improve, these gains in efficiency won't make the user experience much better. Just look at how frustrating it was trying to get to 100% for the test, in the beginning of the video. Charging time may improve but if you still have to wait 30min just to use the charger, what is the point? Personally, I would be more excited if there are Porsche only charging stations here like in Germany.

In my opinion, don't consider an EV unless you can charge at home. The efficiency helps because you're stopping at charging infrastructure less often.

Noticed the back up camera looks better! Kind of looks like the wider angle one but with the guidance lines. Hopefully that is less distorted.

If it is in fact better, let’s hope it’s just a software update, or possibly camera retrofit.

It looks like the one from the new Macan. Good news!

No comments on power difference vs the old version? I get it is a range test but man you get a hold of a pre production facelift that the world is waiting for, drive it for 5 hours and you don’t have a word to say about how it feels power-wise?

Like for the Macan, embargo on any comment tied to how the car drives.
Porsche isn't letting that be discussed just yet.

Frustrating, I know - but not Kyle's fault.

It looks like this for me on my MY23. How bad is yours? Around different threads I read a lot of complaints from everyone. But mine is fine

I don't actually use it often but I use the ICE skip version even less, almost never.

Just make the diamond button above it your shortcut for regen??
On mine the diamond button is programmed to homelink.
It is quite funny but this small change is quite a marked demerit for the update for me.
