I really don't like the colored icons, it looks like a Fisher-Price tablet now. ??‍
It would be nice to have an option, like all things at Porsche.

I couldn't care less how many colors are on the screen so long as the radio works reliably.

Totally agree. I think a lot of the people who are griping about the potential to be left out of the PCM 6.0 upgrade are most concerned about being left out of a more stable future build. There are, of course, people who care about native Spotify and Android Auto, but the most important thing is improved stability.

Nope, just take all updates made available either OTA or by dealer campaigns and don't sweat it.

Odd, I got a number of different OTA updates today. Can’t say I notice any difference, though.

How do you know when you get an update like that? I have only had notifications when the maps are updated. I am having huge issues with CarPlay, blank display screens, car not turning on, etc etc.

About a week after I picked up my car I checked Updates on the PCM and it listed two waiting to be installed, so I installed them. Map updates seem to just happen and then when I get in the car I get a notification that the Map has been updated.

Another recent delivery with a production start of 2/22. Again making it look like that week 7 production switch is correct.

Unfortunately there are even later deliveries in that thread that don’t have the latest PCM with colored icons. Not sure what to make of it.

I think those later deliveries are not in Europe. Probably produced before week 7 and longer transportation. Mine started production end of February and was one of the first delivered with pcm 6

@DerekS after my first OTA update my Apple Music and Podcast disappeared. Thought they would reappear after a day or two. They did not.

I then did the soft reset of the PCM (two fingers top corner of screen — as found in this forum) and then when it all restarted I had several updates available that installed automatically. Apple Music and podcast was back! And the 2nd OTA update appeared.

Felt like the PCM was stuck and the first OTA had not fully completed.

Yep - when in doubt, reboot the PCM. It fixes most things (for a while.)

Have they announced any plans to allow updates to the latest version with colored icons for 2022 MY cars? I don’t care about the icons but I have a lot of stability issues and bugs with the PCM and I’d love to have Spotify integration.

"A total of 12,490 Taycan models are involved in the recall. Impacted vehicles were manufactured between October 21, 2019 and April 25, 2022.

To resolve the issue, Porsche will update the software on the central computer. It will also roll out a comprehensive software update to all Taycan owners that will include the latest software version and address several customer satisfaction issues with the system."

Dealers were notified of the recall on June 9 and owners will be notified on August 5."
