As a long time P-Car owner, I think Porsche has lost it's way. When folks care more about the PCM than the drive, all is lost.
Everyone knows Porsche drive is perfect, it’s just that we spend so much money that we expect to have almost everything perfect (of course there is no perfect car in the world) it’s just annyoying to hear that tesla have better PCM than Porsche

My two cents: Tesla has a better system in that regard, but the PCM is really not that bad. It has some annoying aspects, rather than being overall shitty. In absolutely no way would I buy a Tesla just for that reason.

Now the storage compartment in the armrest, that is unequivocally terrible. That's just badly designed. But obviously, I also won't buy another car because it might have a better one.

One thing worth noting... We did get a major PCM update, so I want to make sure to give Porsche credit for that. As a 2020 owner, I was a huge skeptic (documented in the stickied thread ? ), but Porsche came through and we are now all on 2023 software. There are no PCM changes in 2024 according to the reps I've spoken to.

PCM question as I completed initial setup and configuration but have not driven it yet after delivery.

Can you limit PCM search function to just search PCM functions without Map destinations mixed in? Basically, filter out Map destinations when you do a search on the main PCM screen. Map destinations search should only be in Map and Nav and not in the main screen, but the car begs to differ.

Use the filter option on the overall search:

Apologies, did not notice it yesterday. See it now, and it a great feature, but it does not find what I am looking for. For example, Home Link if you type Home, nothing happens, assuming it does not find things from the main screen icon list, which is where Home Link is.

Homelink may be in the manual and not everything is searchable.

My Porsche App has details on Homelink but not comprehensive enough and particularly if you need to install a Universal Receiver when you encounter compatibility issues ( encrypted rolling code door opener systems will be one)

I just drove for about an hour for the first time to check things out and have one more issue that I cannot figure out.

XM Radio has Live and Not Live mode when you replay something, for example.
When not in Live mode there is a -X.XX type indicator instead if showing Live.
However, I do not know what needs to pressed to go from Replay mode to Live.
Cayenne for example with PCM 5, there is a button that you press to go Live.
I cannot find anything on the screen to do so in the Taycan, unless I go to another station and back.
