I bought mine outright and plan to keep it to Death, either mine or Tycan’s.
That is probably me too. I like it and see no reason to change it for anything else which either exists or has been announced for the future.

Mine is an unusual spec which has almost everything I like and nothing I don’t. There are currently precisely zero of the 300+ Taycans available in the UK atm with an ideal spec for me.

I accept the depreciation as the price of my unusual taste ;)

Just wondering, why is everyone getting a new car after three years? Is it because in UK and USA cars are mostly leased? Or is it warranty? Or..?

I bought the car and planning to keep it for 8 years, it is my first Porsche, so maybe I’m missing something obvious and should sell it after 3 years?
Can't speak for too many Taycan owners, but possibly true of a decent percentage. After a while the car just isn't providing that "this is new and exciting" feeling, and a Taycan is not some unique collectible. In my case nothing magic about 3 years except my attention span and a desire to try something new. That was the case with my Tesla Model S, and mine was an almost perfect car. I expect the same to hold true for the Taycan.

Warning: I have not read all the other posts.

Question: Why is there no option to retain vehicle and buy an extended warranty?

Observation: The wording of these options is strange and difficult to understand. Is that because of differences between the US and other parts of the world? It almost seems like the words "lease" and "warranty" are interchangeable in this poll, where as they are not interchangeable in real life in the US.

Bought mine outright. Plan on keeping for 6-8 years, which means I will be purchasing some sort of extended warranty. This is the current plan, unless I start having a lot of issues with the vehicle (not software related) and it causes less stress to just get something else.

Thats not an option at this poll, so you have to sell it after 3 years. Its the law

I intended to cover a wide array of decision tree options, perhaps I should have been more verbose.
For example:

1) Return/Sell car at Lease/Warranty End - Means:
If you lease, you return the car at lease end. If you purchased the car, you would sell or trade it at warranty end. As far as I know, you can't sell what you don't own as in the case of a lease.

I don't see any other car on the market I'd want to have as my daily, and I don't expect there to be a single BEV wagon on sale in the USA other than Taycan CT/ST.

Seems new EVs are mostly SUVs, and I already learned from two days of having an R1S that I'm very much a "wagon guy".

That, and I'm not entirely confident I won't be in a concentration camp for being queer by the time my Taycan warranty is up in 2-3 years, the way things are going. Might not be able to fuck around with cars in this price range at that point..

I plan to enjoy my car until 2026. By then, I’ll have clarity on whether Porsche will have a good multi passenger EV that will meet my needs (Panamera ?). If not, I will look elsewhere.

I already know I will get the E-Boxster as soon as it is available. Was not an option in your poll.
Can't fathom driving a Cayman or Boxster with an additional 1/2 ton of weight. This whole EV thing is going south - As Yogi Berra once said "It's getting late early". Do we have another Wankel engine revolution on our hands? Where did that go? To the graveyard of technology that simply does not meet practical needs. Just my 2c.

I am fairly certain that I am going back to ICE. I cannot deal with the BS - the technology is simply not ready in my view. Too much pain for so little gain. And from everything I read and see, I am in ample company.

Disagree. I love EV power and torque.

I love spending $0.07/mile charging at home.
I love never getting oil changes, "major service intervals", belts/pumps/etc.

I can't go back to ICE. I just can't.
