In the DC area (or the DMV as it is known for the District, Maryland and Virginia), it is common for people to use vanity plates designed to make it harder for speed cameras to identify the proper car. So something like "MNMNMMNNNNMM"

I personally wouldn't do that because the police are typically nice to me, but I'm afraid they would take a harder line if they knew that I was taking steps to evade speed tickets.

There are so many shooters out there with GUN or SHOT etc in their number plates. I get it if you own a gun shop or club etc. But i've always thought it very risky advertising the fact you probably have some guns locked away in your house to all and sundry. Less of an issue if it's just the small font tag line at the bottom of the plate i guess.
As a condition of insurance the RS is garaged - only the most well informed know that Perazzi make exceedingly beautifully engineered shotguns. As you suggested and to comply legally the text is very small...

The Taycan is such a beautiful car and it gets plenty of attention on its own.
Opt for regular plates - "vanity" plates downgrade the image of sophistication and cool and scream "look at me".
You don't need it.

Given that only you and people that know you, know your name - the significance of a name type plate that is not very clear can be lost on the general public - The clear ones like JON 1 etc - tend to be super expensive (high market demand)

But a plate with a known 'cool' or funny word or meaning, is more universally understood - and there are bargains out there - especially if the seller does not realise its significance.

I got a half-decent one for £299 from DVLA - and there were a few available ranging up to £799 (most <£500).

You just have to be creative in looking for the hidden combo.

A local proctologist once had the following Virginia vanity plate on his chocolate brown 911: A55MAN.

I would not have understood his intent if he had not explained it to me . . . So not sure this was a “win.”
Lol - reminds me of the Seinfeld episode -

Now that you say that, I think the good Dr. mentioned that he had that in mind when he got the plate!

There are cheesier things you could do besides having a vanity plate, like an "electric" badge.

I found the picture I took to persuade DVLA I had both cars to transfer the plate but the Merc has been on SORN too long for their rules. I need to MOT and tax it to move, monumental PITA. A friend wants it since he is a Porsche fanatic but I want to keep 6FD.
