I drove my Panamera ST Hybrid with 21" wheels and factory all-season tires through two winters here in Colorado. Our winters along the front range are fairly moderate, but I did drive it through the occasional light snow with no issues. I wouldn't have taken it into the mountain during a major storm however.

The modern all season tires are pretty damn good. The all-season tires on the Taycan are M+S (mud and snow) rated which is a requirement in Colorado for driving during the winter. I'm not planning on driving the Taycan through ay serious storms, so at this point I'm going to give the all-seasons a shot. I have an alternative vehicle with snow tires as a backup.

For what it's worth.....I went against my previous post and decided to just use the Porsche suggested 20" tire sizes...at least for this year. I just ran out of time to spend on this.
I will be running Pirelli Scorpion Winter-Snows on a set of Techart Formula 1's that I was able to find on eBay. I can't believe I stumbled on the Formulas. They've been out of production for a number of years and I have them on other Pcars....custom painted. Great wheel.
So, I've never run 285's in the rear for winter......but then again I've never driven a 5,000 lb all wheel Porsche in winter either :) .

The problem with using AS tires in snow is that by the time you realize you needed winter tires, you're in a ditch (or worse).

AS tires are fine until they aren't. Modern winter tires are really superb and actually do just fine in moderate weather. I'd much, much rather drive on winter tires in 50-55 degree weather than AS tires in freezing weather.

Agreed. But many of us (including me) have no place to store winter wheels and tires. Do Porsche dealers provide this service?

It depends how convincing you are but yes, generally you can get the dealer or a tire shop to store them for you! Sometimes they'll charge a small fee.

I think the Momos turned out nice. Apologies for the dirty car - this is Norway in the autumn...rain & dirt everywhere. 20" rims w. Nokian Hakka 3s, 285/40 rear & 245/45 front.

How do you keep those steel Brake rotors so shiny, or is corrosion a non issue with the Taycan? (Very nice car by the way :) )

Not a problem so far (only have about 2000 km on the car). I have a hill coming down to my house so I make a point of getting up to speed and braking hard just before I park it. And I rarely park outside over time.

Just switched out the factory liners with WeatherTech ones. Quite happy with the fit. Will be interesting to see how they cope with the snow & dirt this winter.

They look really nice with the blue bodywork (not 100% sold on gold wheels with chrome window surround but whatever).

Aren't the R3s speed restricted? Not that I am likely to be going all that fast here in speed camera infested Switzerland. I was thinking about getting these as proper winter tyres, though will probably stick with P Zero Winters the dealership is suggesting.

Whilst we have had little snow in the South of England for 3 years, the country is gridlocked if we do. 4wd makes little difference for moving forward or braking. I live on top of theChilterns and if it does snow there are often 4wd Porsches and BMWs abandoned at the bottom of the hills. One of the best cars I ever had in the snow (apart from ground clearance)was a diesel Mini with winter tyres.
However summer tyres loose grip below 7 degrees and with such wide footprints even on the 19” wheels, it might be worth considering winter tyres from mid November until mid February.
If you live in a big town or city and do mostly main road driving, it is less of an issue as our major road network is well gritted, but even so, it’s a lot of weight to keep under control!
For those who want ultimate handling, the Devils option of all season tyres will be out, but I have recently swapped all 4 tyres to Michelin Cross Climates on my 3.0 Audi A4 Avant from Pilot Sport 4s and it is a lot more playful!
As with everything, you pay your money and take your choice and as I have delivery set early December, I will keep my fingers crossed for a mild Winter and consider my options when the tyres need replacing toward the end of 2021.
Winter tyres don't brake as well above 7 degrees and in sheet ice any tyre is going to be an issue in a 2 1/2 tonne car and as I live in the very south of UK, very rarely do I set out at temps below 7 regularly and have 21 inch wheels so very difficult to get winter tyres anyway and the ones that are are nearly £2k a set so will stay in if seriously icy and if snow i just don't go out anyway

I dont think we need winter wheels in the UK, hardly any snow here for the past 2/3 years - the car is 4wd anyway...correct me if I am wrong?
I have them on my Range Rover and makes a huge difference with the rain. I am up North tho and we do get a lot of rain

I am putting my winter seat together. I purchased a set of 20” Aero wheels and had them shipped from Germany. I am going to purchase P Zero Winter tires from the dealer and have them do the mounting/balance. I would prefer an all season tires because we really dont get much snow/ice. It just gets cold.
