Made no difference, everyone is booking in their cars for the upgrade.
It must be a dealer by dealer situation? I'm near Zurich.

I don't have the in-app uPdate warning, my dealer emailed if I want to take it in two days /when I want for that (they have loaners but I think they charge per day for them, never needed one). I turned down the offer. And asked him to book me end of Aug when I'm back from holidays and travels. In general never waited for more than 3-4 days for an appointment (I'm no vip customer there)

East London had availability in Mid August last week (I booked in for end of August), if you haven't asked them yet (I recall you're in London right?)

Any reviews yet from those who have managed to get the update in the UK? :)
Picking up mine this afternoon (after a week  ). Apparently PC Bristol didn't have the up to date software on their IT equipment so they blamed the update failures they had all last week on that.

I'll let you know!

Thanks for the suggestion.

They have slightly better availability, but the cost of a service is £800 rather than £500!

You don’t have to get it serviced at the same place you purchase it

I had it done last Wednesday in Solihull. Except they needed to keep it until Thursday to complete it. Worked fine when I picked it up and material gain in range for sure. But……

driving to London on Sunday and the Sat nav spent the entire 2 hour journey trying to work out what the charge would be when it arrived. Stopping / restarting car etc made no difference. Worked ok on way back so decided it was just a glitch. Then it did it all the way to London and back again today. So it’s booked in on Thursday for them to ‘have a look’.
Situation is less than ideal given I’m going on an EU road trip on Friday for two and a half weeks….,,

I dropped my car in yesterday at Solihull and picked it up today. They advise it takes around 6 hours to install and test (that's if there are no hitches). Talking to the technician who was involved, it seems like quite a complicated update to do and there were quite a few failed updates at first which is why they are advising a 2 day process.

All seems okay so far, I have reported my findings on this thread.

Thanks for the report. I'm going for a short trip to Belgium next week and was wondering if I could get this done before going as the Android Auto integration would have been nice. It seems like mostly positive results, but I think playing it safe and waiting is the best option for now (for me).

I got mine done at Porsche Norwich today. Dropped the car off at 09.00 and the update finished about 17.00. All seems good so far.

The service chap said there was a 2020 car that had gone into the second day, so it may be that older cars need slightly longer for the update?

I had the update on Tuesday 2nd August. The car was in Porsche Leeds for 4wd realignment and the seat wiring recall but they rang me on Monday and asked me to bring the appointment forward for a software recall as it would be a long update ("about 5 hours"). I later found out that they had only performed one other update at that point. I had not received a letter from Porsche advising of the update. After chasing later in the day they conceded that it would be an overnight update. They could not supply any details of the scope of the update. They did manage to set off 3 alarms (as usual) despite it being put into workshop mode.

When I did pick it up, I could not get the car's wifi to show on my phone (needed for Android Auto connection) and despite stopping, switching off, locking and then restarting, this did not show. After a shop in Sainsburys I got in the car and there was an immediate connection and Android Auto started up.

I haven't encountered any other issues with the update.

I have the features listing circulated by snstevens elsewhere on the Forum but have not been able to test the availability/improvement against all of them yet.
  • Function on Demand: this has not yet been made available to me on the App or the web page (the only feature likely to be offered not in original spec would be comfort access which I had free use of for the first year until a software update removed it).
  • Spotify and Android Auto now loading and operating perfectly, wirelessly (I also have a Q4 Etron Sportback and this came new with the functionality on board).
  • The new layout and use of colour is a big improvement and although the Audi has all of this, the Porsche is a little sleeker. Unfortunately the mapping is still weak: low contrast and poor definition of road grading is still an issue but features on the mapping now seem clearer with better use of colour.
  • I haven't tested voice control on the Porsche yet but on the Audi it is very good and I can reply to whatsapp messages via Android Auto without error.
  • Filtering of charging stations is much better and route overview has improved but the charging planner still has weaknesses: it is not possible to denote a stopover as a charging station when the Porsche fails to recognise it. I have had intermittent problems obtaining real-time charger availability data on the screen (not clear whether this is an Ionity problem or the software) but this does look to have improved. I will be doing longer journies next week and will be able to test.
  • The AWD display can now be seen in the central dial of the instrument display, if that is what you want.
  • I had a new HUD in April after 15 months, this rectified missing data on the display which I had fed back to Porsche several times, so the software improvements had already been made available to me: PID status appears on the display as well as other assistance/signage data previously not shown.
  • Parking assistance seems to have improved warnings but something that is not mentioned in the new features list is a massively improved rear camera performance - presumably the old black and white patchy display was a software issue. It is now a colour clear widescreen picture which is actually of use (in fact exactly like the Audi one!).
  • One disappointment is that the over-sensitive assistance given when on roads with parked cars and pedestrian refuge islands or when following a turning car if using ACC or Innodrive have not changed.
  • It may be my imagination but not only does the handling seem to have slightly tightened up (and improved) but there seems to be more recuperation when freewheeling... will have to test this further... but it may be one reason for an improved range.
  • I have not noticed any range improvement yet - but the charging algorithm seems to be predicting one!
  • Braking does seem to have become slightly more positive, again possibly linked with the recuperation point above.
  • As yet, no opportunity to properly test charging stability, preconditioning (which has never been ideal), thermal management or online updates.
I will update this if I spot any other improvements or issues. I would recommend anyone to get the update asap, but allow two days!

Booked in Finland Porsche Turku yesterday and got 9th of september. Mine is MY2022 so slightly less updates but still waiting for longer range to get to Helsinki and back in winter without charging stop. We’ll see…
