currently in our workshop.

We are completing the required software update, and this should be done imminently. As a duty of care, we have completed our visual safety health check and video, I can see your video, I hope you found this helpful? As you can see from the video there are the following advisories,

  1. Front left tyre approx. 70% worn
  2. Front toe on wheel alignment is out.

This is simply resolved; we need to replace the tyre then reset the front tow on the wheel geometry. When it comes to the geometry, this is a specialist job as to set the to, we need to remove the front bumper and lower covers to make the required adjustments. Once we have adjusted this, we then need to calibrate the on abord safety system built into your car, reverse camera with surround view. Forward facing camera and PSM steering angle sensor. If we don’t reset these then these system may not work, and possibly put warning lights on the dash.

  1. £456.70 to replace tyre. Pleas note we need to replace like for like tyres and ensure these are Porsche N rated as required.
  2. 914.76 to correctly reset front geometry toe including all the above mandatory safety/comfort system calibrations.
** Please be aware we are unable to calibrate these systems if the geometry is reset by any third party **

You may need to do the bumper/calibration for front camber adjustments. Definitely not for toe.

If your front left is worn 70%, chances are the right is also close to needing replacement.

Take care in case the bumper is removed as the cameras will require recalibration if you have a front one which likely can only be done by a Porsche outlet.

Agree the tyre is 3.9mm left the right 4.1 I would replace both never one. Unfortunately getting all a little dissatisfied with Porsche dealers

Replacement at 4mm is crazy, how many miles have you done to reach 4mm, you have alot more miles to run on them yet. Not aure Which brand you have but for example, if you read on the Michelin website the actually advise not to change tyres early. As for alignment, if the tyre wear is even and the car drives straight, then just Ignore and keep driving

Even the tone of that is so irksome that I’d take the car elsewhere if alignment and wheel replacement really needed to be done. ”We want lots money from you, so here’s a bunch of sentences trying to justify that”
