For at least the first year my wireless CarPlay (iPhone 14 Pro Max) worked flawlessly in my 2022 Taycan Turbo. Now the damn thing never connects. Wifi & Bluetooth connect no problem to the car. The phone shows up in the list of devices but even hitting the CarPlay button does nothing. Can't even stream audio.

Anyone have any ideas?

I had something similar. I gave up and plugged it in. After a while the wireless simply started working again...!

Just checking, but have you deleted the phone from the car and car from the phone and gone through the full pairing sequence again?

I had this problem yesterday - 2020 Taycan Turbo. Was on a 5 hour drive
Recognised the phone but not the car play. Took about 3 hours to sort itself out. No idea what went wrong.
This morning, it was fine

Anybody solve the stuttering problem with wireless CarPlay? I have an automation/shortcut that plays the weather and appointments that skips and stutters.

So this morning it magically started working again. WTF. This wouldn’t be so bad if there was some kind of reliable reset procedure when this happens, but I can’t seem to find one ?

I’ve had the same issue. Very spotty connection, very hard to try to connect if it doesn’t do it on its own.

On the rare occasions when I have a CarPlay issue I just reboot the PCM and everything works great again.

Not that it helps any but I have the same issue with Android Auto. Most of the time it will fix itself but every now and then I need to reboot the PCM. The PCM is by far the worst tech in the Taycan, there is no excuse for a car at this price point.

I had this problem a few months back, carplay button would go grey with a circle but never connect. I fixed it by doing the following:

Delete the device from PCM
Delete on my iphone
I then had to go settings general and reset & then reset network settings. it will power cycle then i had no issues connecting. Frustrating as you have to re enter wifi passwords.

@speedingcarefully Put 2 fingers in the top right corner of the PCM screen and hold, this will force a reboot of the PCM into engineering mode. When it comes up there will be an option to exit engineering mode and continue, select that option and it will come back up in normal mode.

Just an FYI- I was at my Porsche dealer - dealing with some PCM software issues (no online radio, no apple music, no podcast, no weather, and could not/would not go into engineering mode doing the two finger salute). I mentioned that when my lovely PCM SW got into a funk an engineering reboot would usually solve the problem- The PSA told me that there is an internal bulletin from Porsche that states going into engineering mode voids the warranty and customers as well as Porsche technicians (unless with the proper credentials) should never go into engineering mode. Well that was news to me... and they were not able to solve my problems even with a hard PCM reset. I am pushing them to do a PCM replacement but they are telling me there is sure to be a SW update soon and that will probably 'fix the issue'. Now I like my Porsche dealer and technicians- during this service I also had the heater recall done... but based upon my experience - no one at a Porsche dealership knows a dam thing about PCM sw issues other than to reboot, load new software or replace the PCM... Apparently there is no tech support team in Porsche that can either talk them through an issue, download logs, remotely login - or anything else that would fix a customer issue. The PCM software is crap- thank god, at least for me, apple carplay works because otherwise I would sell my car- its the first time an entertainment system has been a huge issue for me and has been a big black mark on what otherwise has been a great car.

You never actually go into engineering mode with the reboot. You immediately exit and never access any of the other options.

Also, in the US they can’t void your warranty. They have to prove you did something to mess up the car.

I find that putting your phone into airplane mode and then back out of airplane mode fixes it every time. I know we always assume the computer issues are Porsche’s fault (because they nearly always are) but this one might actually be Apple’s fault
