Damn. My heater has been broken since yesterday; no heat in the car. I have a model with heat pump if that makes any difference.

However it seems those with heater issues had an error message in the car, I don't have any such errors just a freezing car. Anybody else had a model with heat pump failure?

Also; does that mean that battery pre-warming for super fast charging is out of the question? I have some travels to France scheduled in the coming days, and with all the upcoming strikes and petrol blockade etc. I definitely need an electric car to go there.
That &€@. I hope they can fix it quickly.

the only sign I had was that the pre cooling / heating button was gone on the central charging screen. And I got an error message when I wanted to program preheating on departure in the car not on the app. It said something like technical error and function not available.

like you said: no fast charging. I saw some reports mentioning charging speed only up to 40-50 Kw and battery remaining cold. Someone had to charge 1.5 hour at a fast charger.
It is not safe to drive longer distance without heater.

Maybe you can get a Taycan loaner for your trip?

good luck !

I had a look at my service manual today and they have noted the part number of my new heater.

date December 6th 2022
PAD963507
Serial number: lots of zeros 2230061512

I think I saw another tread mentioning a serial number of the replacement part but don’t can’t find it

The part they're currently using to fix the issue "PAD-963-507" has a listing in Porsche dealer's parts catalogues as "Replaces 9J1-963-507-D."

If you google the earlier part number you'll also see references to 9J1963507C, and 9J1963507E.

So it looks like there have been a few versions they've gone through over the years. I'm assuming the switch from the 9J1963507C, D, and E version to the PAD version is an attempt to fix the ongoing issues.
I have the same.

My heat went out last Thursday and dealer confirmed high voltage heater failed. New part was ordered yesterday, I hope to have it by Thursday and installed Friday. The same “PAD” part number as above was ordered.

Out of curiosity, anyone how much are those parts? I'm curious whether it would behoove a dealer to just stock them - may be cheaper than loaners.

Right now the parts are produced per VIN and for US they'll ship them to HQ in Atlanta and from there dispatch to destinations.

What I've been told

Mine was picked up 2 days ago by Porsche Assist (AA).
Loaner arranged by Enterprise (mid/Premium class). They guessed it was 'another' Taycan heater failure.

Dealer phoned today to confirm HVAC has failed.
Part on back order, but hopefully in next week and car back with me later on next week ?.

Which would be a week and a bit since landing at the dealers.
Did you manage to get this sorted? i was under the impression they can't get any parts in the UK right now. I've been waiting since 3rd Jan and the dealership can't even give an estimated date for the part to arrive.

My 4S has been in the Leeds Porsche Centre for a month and yesterday they admitted to having had over 40 Taycans recovered to them for the same heater issue.

They now have parts, but can only do one car a day...and I'm number 22 on the list so will be without the car for at least another month! This really should have been a model recall as they knew about the problem over a year ago.

Terrible for the customers and the brand image.
My 4s is in Leeds too. They told me today (18th Jan) that they have no idea when they can get the parts. They said the same to a friend yesterday whose car is also in Leeds for same issue. They have told me its going to be a 'long time'....

So what are the symptoms?
- random fog ups? Or is this still considered a feature rather than a failure?
- no blower, or just cold blower?
Could I just put my heater on 30c and see if the gets really warm?
For me, no heat but also no air at all out of the vents - it happened gradually and sporadically at first so i thought it was to do with the fact the battery was cold etc but then came the total misting up of all windows to the point i couldn't drive the car. (see photo - that was whilst trying to get it home). Also absolutely freezing. BUT the seat & steering wheel heating was a dream!

That seems slow!

Mine went in on Jan 3rd.
Part arrived Jan 7th (they started work the same day - a Saturday).
I picked it up on Jan 10th.
It seems very dealer dependant.

Is this problem also known to happen for the MY23 or has this issue already been adressed from factory since MY23 came out?

Hi Rik

my brand new Taycan GTS, which I was due to collect on 4 December has the heating issue. Almost 7 weeks on, I still don’t have my car.

I have no idea how a brand new car, manufactured on 7 November 2022 could leave the factory with a faulty part without A quality assurance process.

It’s taken the joy out of collecting the car - whenever that might be. From what I know, the issue as much prevalent in MY2023 as it is with older cars

Not a good future for all of us, with respect to that heater :(
Hope your car will soon be ready and some flawless kms after collection.
