Probably very specific to region, age and driving record but I feel State Farm is pretty reasonable. I think I pay what would work out to $68 or 72 a month. With a $500 deductible if I recall correctly. In Midwest not a major city heh,

I too have GEICO and pay ~$150 a month. Based in the Bay Area so perhaps some cost of living bump. I have $500 deductible and good coverages (300K/500K). I had taken a quote from AAA; they were more than double so didn't bother looking elsewhere (I have been a longstanding GEICO customer).

Out of curiosity, I typed the VIN of a used 4CT into my USAA account and the quote seemed reasonable.
Not really comparable to any of the figures discussed here since I was adding to a policy with other vehicles. But it definitely wasn't like USAA had its algorithms programmed to go nuts with the Taycan. If you're not already a USAA member, the requirements have been loosened up in recent years, so you might want to check to see if you qualify.

I live in CA. Interestingly, USAA quoted me at a whopping $360/month! Geico was much cheaper.

I use State Farm Insurance and they are not bad. But I also have a Bundle with my Rentals and Two other Vehicles.

there are so many variables that are part of insuring a car it is almost impossible to compare rates. beyond levels of coverage, miles driven and location where the care is kept there are things like driver's history, driver's credit rating, driver's age, marital status and many other factors.

+1 for State Farm. I'm paying $106/month for about 7k miles a year, but we have a number of other policies (house, cars, etc) so there are some discounts wrapped into that price. That's for San Jose, CA. You might want to talk to an agent and see if moving another vehicle with the Taycan would get you a lower combined price since it's usually the multi-vehicle or multi-policy discounts that make the difference.

With the major caveat that all this is so dependent upon a myriad of details:
  • Two drivers, husband & wife, both in their 50s (still two yrs until our daughter gets learner's permit), no moving violations in many years (maybe that will change with my upcoming Taycan, or my wife's newly purchased i4 M50!), last claim was Nov '19, trivial fender bump, other driver's 100% fault.
  • Safe college town, although with strange Massachusetts insurance regs.
  • Home insurance, umbrella policy, and wife's life insurance are also all w/ USAA.
  • Policy would have three cars for those two drivers, '22 A6ar, '23 i4 M50, and '22 4CT, with the 4CT replacing an old Subaru.
  • Incremental cost to replace a '19 Subaru Impreza worth ~$16k with a '22 4CT worth ~$90k is only $1,082 from USAA.
  • That seems too low even for a comparably priced ICE, but definitely shows that at least for our situation, USAA is not overly concerned about insuring a Porsche EV.
