Re my own remark that “I’d say this is an example of simple engineering” - I should add that I’ve been accused of producing Rube-Goldbergesque designs. Haters gonna hate.

“only one of all was not German” oh, right, a simpler way to say this would have been “all but one were German”. (They’re still haters.)

My Germanic engineering comment was actually a back handed compliment.

How many cars have you owned with a parcel shelf?
I’ve had a few and not one of them had arms that needed to be deployed to stop a rattle?

Good old Germanic engineering.
In fairness, some of my previous cars probably had rattles but I couldn’t hear them because of the loud ”vroom vroom” of those really cool ICE bits. ?

I had exact same problem and the hooks solution worked perfectly!))
Now i need to figure out how to get rid of the sound of seat belts buckles hitting the plastic when driving downhill:)) or a bit more active?

YES, this ^. I haven’t figured that one out (yet). You can try and move the retainer “ring” (the plastic sliding element that keeps the buckle at a given height), but that’s not a permanent solution. (I could try and fix it by not having passengers in the rear, or asking them not to wear their belts.. ?)

It's not ideal but achieves the purpose.

One of them (on each side) has a hook, so it's dual-purpose; the other two are there to support the shelf.
This is an old post, apologies for reviving it.......but are you saying there are four fold out hook type supports in the boot? I can only see the two with hooks that sit under the parcel shelf rubber 'foot' supports?
