The latest Taycan Update has been withdrawn because cars are bricked after the update. Told me a friend.

Well, let's see if this is confirmed or not. It has been out for a little while now, they may change the "method" and revise, I wouldn't assume that is exactly the same as no update?

I can confirm it.
How did you confirm it?

It is not clear from this rumor if the update process bricks the car (i.e. breaks during the update) or if the software itself has bugs that can cause faults later.

My dealer installed the updates successfully (MY20) but said the PCM had some issue they are working on now. Unsure if this is the type of "brick" activity being referred to.

Yea let's not spread rumors like this until confirmation.
My car is in the middle of the update now. As of an hour and a half ago in was in the middle of module 4 and things were going smoothly. Module 5 apparently takes sometime to load. I guess it is to late too stop now. At least my loaner is a 2021 Cayenne with less than 100 miles on it. If my car is "bricked" then I get a new PCM with all the latest software. Time will tell.

I have heard nothing at all about this and spoke with my tech this afternoon. Issues, yes, but they are still working on it.

My car is on module 4 and there ARE issues, fault codes. 4 tries so far. 1-3 went well. Don't know about 5 yet.

2020. That's what my dealer told me today and why the cancelled my updated.

Can you be more specific than 'bricked'??
My dealer told me "they don't drive off the lot anymore"

It is also a rumour that Tesla trolls spread rumours about Taycans that are "bricked" after the update.
There are always stupid people who say stupid things. If you suspect everyone, you are no better.
