I ordered these new in July 2020 and never got around to even taking them out of the shipping box. Porsche part # 9J1 860 159, $480 new, yours for $200 + shipping. These are the screw-mount bars designed for the sedans.
I'm selling my never-installed never-used Porsche Winter Wheel set for Taycan (P/N 9J1 073 600 E). Purchased new in 2020 from Suncoast parts, and then lovingly stored in my garage. New set lists for $6794 plus $52 for the tote bags. All yours for just $2500. Tires are factory-mounted by Porsche...
I’m sorry to report that I sold my 2020 Taycan Turbo today.
Nothing against the car, but I wasn’t driving it anymore. Since moving to the DC Area I’ve found that the traffic and parking aren’t really Porsche-friendly. The roads are lined with speed cameras, and the great driving roads are all...
I had the pleasure of being at Rennsport in Monterey earlier this year, and there were Taycans all over the place serving as 'taxi' vehicles and shuttles. All of them had wraps, some of which were pretty awesome.
Just posted, doing a walk around of the underside of the car. It's a '22 base Taycan with the only option being the RS Spyder wheels.
my favorite observation was about Porsche's margins on the wheels relative to the total profit most automakers see on the entire vehicle:
"every time somebody...
Has anyone gotten the upgrade to the 22 kW onboard charger that Porsche announced back in July? My understanding is that it's the one way for 2020 Taycan owners to get Plug and Charge capability, and I'd love to know how much I'd have to pay for that privilege...
This study was just published this morning, examining the reliability and availability of CCS chargers in 9 SF Bay Area counties. I was one of the lucky victims who helped collect data for the study, but the results are interesting and I'm sharing since others might care.
The groups funding...
Our family took a brief trip to Death Valley last week, and we piled into the Taycan Turbo for the drive down and back (in the park we had rented a jeep from Farabee's--highly recommended given that some of the best sites are only accessible via unpaved roads). Note that all units are Imperial...
Wow. Gotta say this strikes me as one of the more inventive stories I've seen about Taycan...
Porsche Whistleblower: “60% of all delivered Taycan have battery issues that caused replacements, damages and fires”
https://www.teslarati.com/porsche-whistleblower-taycan-battery-charger-fires-coverup/
I just completed a drive from LA to SF, using a different route than in the past. A few observations:
1. Range forecasting in Taycan was absolutely brilliant. And the trip planner actually proposed great charging options (exactly the same as ABRP, in fact). I was gobsmacked given past...
I used to be able to charge without issues at a variety of EVGo stations, but since the major software update in April, I haven't had a successful session at any EVGo station, including two that I had regularly charged at previously.
Has anyone here attempted to charge at EVGo recently? What...
I made a trip last night for the express purpose of testing 350 kW charging from a low SoC in my Taycan. I've visited 350 kW chargers before, but never with a low enough SoC to really expect peak charging rates.
A few bits of background/observations:
The trip from my home to the chargers was...
I charged today at the 350 kW charger at the Walmart Supercenter in Salinas, CA. Eventually.
I first tried to initiate charging from the Porsche Connect app, which reported 'function unavailable.' After a few failures like this, I tried the Charge NA app. Same result. Then I tried the Electrify...
This may be something everyone already knows, but I checked and it's definitely not covered in the owner's manual or the Good to Know app.
One thing that's been frustrating me is that I couldn't get the Taycan to display the rate of charge in kWh, only the 'miles per minute' display beneath...
I drove my Taycan back home to the Bay Area today from Los Angeles (I took delivery last week at PEC LA and had protective film installed on the car right after).
First, to report on my Electrify America experience: in the past three days that I was in LA and then driving back, I used Electrify...
Today I took delivery of my 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles. If anyone has been reticent to do the PEC delivery because of COVID restrictions, I'd say don't worry. It was an awesome time, and they did a fantastic job of making it a very special occasion...
Putting this out there in case anyone knows: is it possible to put the winter wheel/tire set for the Taycan into the car for transport (presumably with the seats down)? I'm looking at getting a set, but this is turning out to be an important aspect of my purchase decision.
Thanks in advance!
Not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but here goes:
There's a strong possibility that I'm going to have to leave my Taycan in my garage at home for about two months while I'm out of the area. I'm concerned about the effects of storing the car for that long without driving it. Does anyone...
For any USA West coast order holders who have cars on the G Poseidon, the ship arrived in Benicia at 3:25 this morning. Now on to PDI and then delivery!
