I had the power loss fix applied (AMB5) last week. I’m reviewing the paperwork and the dealer also performed WMG4 campaign. Does anyone know what this is for?

Same situation. The tech explained it is a software update for 19.2 kW charger optioned Taycans that improves reliability for both AC and DC charging. I hope this fixes my intermittent issues with Electrify America chargers, though I have not yet had a chance to test. It does not appear to fix Plug and Charge, at least I still do not have the option to enable PnC in the PCM.

I see that you are another one in the 19.2 kw unit having charging issues. I hope that you've reported your problems to porsche. I have had the car in for a deep dive into the issue, how deep they dove is suspicious, and they returned the car with no fix. the fact that the PnC was not restored is not promising.

Does the 19.2 kw option allow you to plug and charge?

no, it is the opposite, having the 19.2 option prevents the car from being able to plug and charge and it is suspected to cause other issues with charging at EA units.

What is the best way to do this, call PCNA?
that and bringing it to the attention of your service dept.
PCNA will document the issue but not much else.
Porsche needs to hear from people who have this issue because they are claiming that they are unaware of this issue.

Brought my car into service today for a second appointment to have my HUD repaired/replaced. On check-in I learned that my car is part of the WMG4 campaign and will be getting the update.

I don’t have high hopes that it fixes plug and charge, but improving the reliability when using EA would be most welcome. I usually have to try 2-3 times and switch stalls to find one that works.

Prepare to be disappointed on both counts. I do a semi-regular 500 mile round trip and I have the same EA problems as I did prior to WMG4, including one station that will not charge my car no matter which charger I connect to. Thankfully there's a nearby ChargePoint DC station that works, though it tops out at 60 kW.

Lovely.
Does anyone have a list of changes or even items WMG4 does address?

Did you ever get any update from Porsche on this?

I too have that awful 19.2kw charger on my TTS.

Went in for the recall update today. It included AMB5 and WMG4. Oddly, the description for WMG4 is "reprogramming 22kW OBC." Not sure why it would be listed as 22 instead of 19.2.

Everything seems to work as it did before application of the two updates. As was pointed out earlier in the thread, still no PnC option. Disappointing.

I am doing the software update tomorrow, I won’t be taking a road trip for 6 weeks for a real test. I was reading on a different thread about Porsche doing something related to good will compensation but nothing has come of that
